What do you mean, she's entitled to her opinions? You mean in the way that Ann Coulter, David Duke, Rush Limbaugh, and Karl Rove are entitled to theirs? Yes, I suppose that's true.
By that standards I am entitled to my opinions, to wit:
(a) AKA Smith is a piece of trailer trash.
This is a vicious attack...and it's classist. You're a home owner? Yes? So that means that you're better than people who live in trailers?
(b) AKA Smith is a racist.
And you aren't? You've never had a racist thought, or done something racist?
(c) AKA Smith lacks the intellectual firepower to devise a winning strategy for Democrats.
And of course, you have all the answers?
(d) AKA Smith does not represent anyone, and there is no need to pander to or listen to her.
And you represent? Whom? All powerful men? Sexist pigs?
(e) AKA Smith is on some level aware of (a) and feels inferior for other reasons as well, which is why she demands to be placated by a symbolic show of obeisance from Obama.
Ah, the fear of castration......fear of subservience to women..you don't like women do you?
(f) Some of the things she lists are meritorious on their own, but there is zero reason to do them simply because a 4000-post welfare-addicted racist troll on Salon says to do so.
Oh gosh, I thought we embraced programs and policies on their merits, not because someone else endorsed them....

MFbeta, here's the scoop. If you're a left wing progressive, you're supposed to be kind, compassionate, caring, and speak to the issues. You're not supposed to attack people. Please stop.
You really said "our dream came true. YOURS just ended."
This is kind of ...well..unbelievable.
I thought Barack Obama stood for a different type of politics, in which all Americans would be united for a common goal....
This is your mean-spirited small souled response?
Are you for real?
I absolutely appreciate your careful, nuanced, wise analysis...
Keep it up!
Have you noticed that the most recent press references no longer refer to her has Mrs. Clinton or even Senator Clinton or as Hillary? In the past few weeks she has been just "Clinton"....no longer merging with former president clinton....
She has emerged in the public arena and the public agenda as her own person.
I am delighted and admiring, and feel that this is an omen and signal to the women and girls in America and throughout the world.
Okay, having said that...
Do we want Barack Obama or John McCain to be appointing justices to the Supreme Court?
Do we want Barack Obama or John McCain to be appointing other federal judges?
Do we want Barack Obama or John McCain to have the power to veto legislation passed by Congress?
Do we want Barack Obama or John McCain to appoint cabinet heads..the Attorney General, the Secretary of State and Defense, the head of the departments of Health and Human Services...haven't we seen how the Bush/McCain administration has gone after federal prosecutors who haven't hewed the party line, eroded civil liberties, etc. etc., etc.
I think we all understand that John McCain is actively sexist...calling his wife a cunt, retaliating against women who spoke up against him......He is no friend of women and no feminist.
I think it's been hard here on the Salon boards...because there have been a bunch of Bush/McCain trolls who have been posing as Obama supporters, and who have been using inflamatory language and misognyist rhetoric against Senator Clinton. I don't think that they are really Obama supporters (or the few that really are don't represent the philosophy, spirit or vision of the Obama campaign)...
I will be following Senator Clinton's advice and working my heart out for Senator Obama and I urge you all to do the same
"Are Women Just Too Emotional to Have the Vote?
I swear, every time I read one of these logic-free screeds about someone voting for McCain becuase they're mad at the way Hillary was treated, because that'll show those mean old Democrats, I start to wonder.

This is what was written.
The sexism that has been exposed during this campaign will never be forgotten.
