Thank you so much for your post. I fear no one is listening; I wish they would.

Categorizing all Irish American working class people is wrong.
Generalizations are wrong. Prejudice is wrong.
Sorry you don't get it.
Your post is an example of the vicious sexism perpetrated against Senator Clinton by the "so-called" left. You compare her to a whore because she's stayed with President Clinton.
You blame her for President Clinton's actions.
You denigrate and despise all women trapped in prostitution....but you certainly don't blame men who use and consume women.
The words sexist slime and corrupt creep come to mind.
That is one of the most disgusting comments I've ever heard.
The unbelievable vitriol and mean-spiritedness of those who are supporting Barack Obama on the salon message boards is almost unbelievable.
The persistent and rampant sexism -- referring to Sen. Clinton as Shillary, and Billary -- is too stupid and banal. Can't you make a point without calling names? Do you have any intellectual depth or abilities at all? It reminds me of the republicans who can't talk about Senator Obama without emphasizing his middle name. It's the Know Nothing branch of the democratic party.
First, the vice-president has the power and authority that the president allows. Bush ceded a lot of his power to Cheney, but what did JFK do with Lyndon Johnson? Bill Clinton will not be roaming anywhere, the vice-president, and the vice-president's spouse, appear at the invitation of the president.
I think Barack Obama is an honorable and decent man, and I will be proud to vote for him in November.
He does not deserve -- and I believe would denounce -- the name-calling and one line unconscionable attacks that have persistently taken place on these message boards.
You may hate and despise Senator Clinton (for whatever twisted and hateful reasons), but millions of people have enthusiastically supported and endorsed her. How about a little respect for other democrats? How about a little "I won, so now I can be a good sport?" Why don't you all take a page from your hero's book?

"The petition is a dumb idea. Hillary can be made to supply a forced endorsement for a much smaller price than the Vice-Presidency. She has alienated the Democratic Party machine with her antics; if she wants to keep that machine working for her in future, she'll have to do whatever they say, and do it with a smile. Her days of self-centered destructive antics are over.
Those who urged her to continue her hopeless fight at such enormous cost to the Democratic Party are going to find themselves on the outside looking in as well. You backed the wrong horse, and you may well have doomed Obama in the general election. If he wins, his people will get their payback on you at their leisure; if he loses, every Democrat will hate you for what you did.
Enjoy it, gang. You earned it."
You sound like a Republican. She can be made to? She will do it with a smile? Do you hate women? Is that the deal here?
Do you revel in the idea that now she'll know her place?
Get with it...she came very close to defeating Barack Obama, she got millions of votes....and the people who are dooming Sen. Obama in the general election are people like you -- small souled, vicious, vindictive, bent on revenge....focused on "paybacks." Goodness, you must be really pleasant in person!
Outside of Salon and the beltway, there are a LOT of people who (like me) have said that if the Democrats nominate a BLUE DOG, we will vote for the BLUE DOG.
Although I voted for Senator Clinton the California primary, I never, ever, ever, would vote for a Republican, no matter HOW acrimonious the primaries became. I have no intention of being part of the destruction of the environment, human rights, the Bill of Rights, nor re-electing those who would make the rich even richer, and shed the blood of our youth for profit.
And I have found much to admire in Senator Obama, a thoughtful, honorable gentleman, it seems, with the ability to inspire our youth. I'm looking forward to voting for him in November.
And in the midst of all this, let us never, ever forget that this is the first time in the HISTORY of the United States that a major party will nominate a non-white person for President.
This is immense. Of course, racism exists, and it will be a long, long time before it can be eradicated.
But this IS a sign, that we ARE making progress in abandoning the idea that the white race is superior.
That's bottom line.
And it's a great day for humankind.
