The crazy thing

about the anti-HRC trend among Republicans is that she's actually the *most* conservative, *most* corporate-friendly of the Democrats. So it really can't be her politics that are the fundamental root of the hatred. I'd be very curious to learn the *real* reason conservatives claim to hate her... more than the average Democrat, more than the average (powerful) woman... could it really still be all about Bill to them?

.TV

Tuvalu gets $4 million a year from the domain name, and is part owner of the holding company. Not bad for free.

Honestly...

It wouldn't surprise me any more if they found out he *was* dead and didn't tell anyone. The Global War on Terra is almost as effective as Roe v. Wade in getting the "low-information voters" to vote Republican -- but only if the issue is never resolved!

sometimes...

... you can't tell if the Anonymous trolls on different stories here are the same person or not. But in this case, when it's identical racist crap regardless of the story, it's pretty easy.

Congrats to you both, and best wishes!

Five out of the first seven posts from the same anonymous Clinton troll. That's modern politics for ya.

even $1 trillion...

... divided by the population of Iraq would be over $36,000 per person. I think that's gonna look like a better and better investment in hindsight before all this is "over."

@ God of Biscuits, too many others

I promised myself I wouldn't get into this, but...

NO ONE SAYS THE STEEL MELTED! It was weakened by the heat of the fire, causing structural weakness and eventually collapse. Read the NIST report, and try to explain how they're obviously all in on it too. Have fun.

Pick one...

Either a) McCain believes it, or b) he wants America to believe it. I choose c) vote Democratic in November.

Durability

I bet it's about as fragile as a pair of nylons, especially given the contortions required to put it on by crawling into the armhole or whatever they have to do....

I'm surprised...

...Ballmer can say stuff like "We sell 270 million PCs a year" and not get called on it. Unless you count XBoxes, Microsoft sells *zero* PCs. Considering that profit margin on hardware is in the 20% area and that on software is more like 80%, is it any wonder they've been so successful?

A reminder

If you use words like "Obamabots" or "Obamatrons," you forfeit your right to be taken seriously. Have a nice day.

Photoshopping

I think Adobe's big problem with this use of their trademark is how it's almost always seen as a negative ("those faces/missiles/whatever aren't real, they're just Photoshopped"). While it's probably true that every image we're exposed to has been processed in Photoshop at some point, it's only the obvious fake-looking ones that people refer to that way.

Congrats Keef!

Great to see you again at Con in the usual spot. Hope to see a "Life's Big Victories: Childbirth Edition" strip soon!

(Nice shout-out to your Unks with the boy's middle name, and thank you for not going with a K-name like his parents have!)

"Balanced" coverage through the ages

On the one hand, President Nixon arranged for some men to break into a Democratic Party office.

On the other hand, he was creating jobs!

@ Carmina

Obviously nothing on Earth would convince you that Obama is qualified to be President. A more intelligent person, however, would be embarrassed of that fact, rather than making it so public.

better, simpler Mail Goggles

Any mail you send that fits certain criteria (addressed to your boss/spouse/more than 10 people/etc.) is not sent, but is held by GMail for an hour. After that time, you are asked if you really want to send it after all. (Come on, you know you could have used this that one time...)

These people don't even know why they believe things! No wonder they love Palin.

@ Bill Owen

I read in several places that the "aide" Suskind quoted was in fact Rove himself. No way to tell for sure, but at the very least that is plainly the Rove Doctrine being described. Good luck with that, Karl.

I just hope...

that one of the eventual side-effects of this election and its result is the severing of the hitherto unbreakable link between "opposed to the Israeli government's actions or policies" and "anti-Semitic," which has been drilled into the minds of many Americans since the advent of AIPAC and the neocon movement.

Openly black

As George Carlin put it, people aren't usually described as "openly black." Except maybe James Brown, or Farrakhan. Colin Powell, on the other hand, is "openly white." He just "happens to be" black.

Miss ya George...

What confuses me

Even in the stores that shove Christmas in your face beginning the day after Halloween, 99% of it is the secular type, with trees and Santa and reindeer. Is this what the church wants - still more association of their sacred day with pagan symbols and Coca-Cola ad campaigns? Conversely, would they be happier if actual religious symbols were scattered all over the mall? ("What would baby Jesus eat - in our newly-renovated food court!") I think at this point even they are confused.
