  • So will Clinton speak up...

and remind her contributors her campaign has said, "While Senator Clinton has made clear throughout this process that she will do whatever she can to elect a Democrat to the White House, she is not seeking the vice presidency, and no one speaks for her but her. The choice here is Senator Obama's and his alone." Not to mention blackmail of Obama by her supporters reflects poorly on her?

As for her $30 million debt, a previous War Room letter made an excellent point: If all of those 18 million of her adoring supporters would pony up less than $2 each, her debt would vanish. Or is the real issue more about punishing Obama than retiring her debt?

By the way, I'm glad you all liked my idea of the $2 donation from each of those famous 18 million fans. It was so quickly buried in the millenial posting string of the Walsh article I wasn't sure anyone would actually see it.

I did, and loved it! I would've given you a name credit, but couldn't remember who wrote it and couldn't find it again. Thanks, meffert!

Why does it have to be from a business perspective?... Business is an important part of the country, but it's not the only part that matters. I think we also need the consider the needs of the people when formulating policy.

I don't think akadjian was arguing it should only be considered from a business perspective, but that it should be framed that way. If you talk about the benefits to business rather than to lower income people, you sidestep those tiresome charges of 'class warfare' you just know the wingers are going to make.

I would second the calls here for Frank as VP, but if you think racism and sexism are bad in this country, try putting a gay man on the ticket. Alas, I shall never live to see it.

You are correct. It is bribery, not blackmail. I shall endeavor to be more accurate in my posts.

  • When Joe met Sally (and ran into SomeNYGuy)

    DurianJoe

    Hey, I liked "Jennifer."

Well, many did. One of my problems with it was that it lacked Argento's usual visual style. Another was I just couldn't buy the obsession. Perhaps it's because I'm a gay fella and was immune to Jennifer's charms. (Jesus, do you straight guys jump on anything with breasts?!?) OTH, Rose McGowan in "Planet Terror" was one of the hottest things I've ever seen. And Freddy Rodriquez wasn't too shabby, either.

I liked "Pelts" too, and not just because I think that everyone who buys fur coats should be strangled with their own intestines...

After seeing "The Brave One" (don't), I commented to a friend of mine, "The problem is, if you put an animal in a violent movie, I will sit there saying 'Where's the dog? Don't hurt the dog!' and not give two shits about what's happening to the people." I always, however, enjoy seeing Meat Loaf in a movie.

But tell me why it is that Italian horror maestros love to gouge out women's eyes or disembowel them or worse, run stakes through their orifices?

It wouldn't have occurred to me, but I think SomeNYGuy nailed it. Many torture devices used in the Inquisition were geared toward ripping, gouging, or otherwise mutilating genitalia. Perhaps to 'purge the sin?'

Now here's a question I have: What's with all the maggots in Italian horror? Is it even legal to make an Italian horror film without a maggot scene? I never see them in American horror, but presumably Americans would be just as squicked by them as anyone else.

I think I'll check out "Stuck" tomorrow night instead.

Oooh! I wanted to see that but missed it. I expect a full report at your earliest convenience. I assume, then, you've seen "King of the Ants"? Gordon has expressed interest in producing a screenplay by a friend of mine. I'll let you know if their talks develop into anything.

    steer clear of the warden.

I would, but I kinda want a mint.

    Sally the Werewolf

"Asia! How would you like to be in Pappa's new movie about evil women doing evil things and other women getting disemboweled?"

Funny scenario, but I don't think the films had nearly as much affect as Argento himself. I've met and known many in the horror industry and they're all generally very nice, normal people. But Argento? Definitely an undercurrent of insanity.

I must also say it is always best to include Udo wherever and whenever possible. If Udo's in it, I'm gonna go see it!

Then! down the chimney comes Santa Klaus Kinski in fishnet tights

And you think Argento's sick? Jesus, people in glass houses...!

You just "happened to?" What a coincidence!
