I don't even buy ink. I just buy a new printer when it runs out. There's a free printer in every box of ink cartridges.

My favorite line....

"Not only did many of the top Republican contenders not compete, but the turnout dropped considerably, from 23,685 votes cast in 1999 to just 14,302 votes on Saturday."

as John Stewart pointed out....

it's the hair talking.

Wednesday, October 17, 2007 04:35 PM

why we think public phone users are obnoxious

There is public space and there is private space. For what ever reason, there is a gut feeling among most people that phone conversations belong in the private space.

The ancients understood this which is why phone booths had doors on them.

We can't help feeling repulsed and disgusted. It's like encountering someone urinating on the sidewalk.

Friday, October 19, 2007 11:01 AM

there is a story floating around town....

that this is the ninth dog she has done this with.

No idea if it's true, but there it is.

JJ is a tool

Yes, JJ is a tool.

No, he isn't the right tool for this situation.

Original article: "We're all fascists now"

The most consistant tactic of the right

Has for decades now been to stridently accuse your opponet of being what you are.

Thursday, January 17, 2008 11:20 AM

But....

Tuesday, January 29, 2008 01:01 PM

Isn't the issue race?

Religion is a red herring.

Private school attendance ballooned in the South after segregation was imposed. The black kids go to public school and the white kids go to private school.

Fine, give them their voucher, but mandate that any school that takes them must be integrated.

Wednesday, February 13, 2008 10:36 AM

how about a do over?

Just have another primary in those states and this time both candidates will campange.

No seriously.

The renegade states get penalized with the expense of running another election, Clinton doesn't get the benefit of being the only candidate in those elections, and it will keep us occupied until the convention.

Original article: War? What war?

they keep repeating the mantra

Just this morning on the news I heard that a female suicide bomber killed a bunch of Iraqis and 9 US solders were killed by a roadside bomb. The story concluded with "over all violence is down in Iraq".

Tuesday, April 8, 2008 10:04 PM
Original article: Through a bong, darkly

I dunno

citizens shutting down their government's war was kind of special.

Most of the social upheavals of the period were probably more the result of the invention of reliable birth control though.

Thursday, April 24, 2008 09:37 PM

If Mc Cain can't get his party in line....

How can we expect him to control the government? Is this what we can expect four years of? The nutjobs commiting attrosities, while he stands around wringing his hands?

that would be my counter attack anyway.

Friday, May 9, 2008 10:51 AM

down the memory hole

Gen. Franks plan called for 4 divisions; two would invade up through staging areas in the south, and two would come down through Turkey in the north.

The docturn of Leaner Meaner Techno forces precluded that and Franks settled for 2 divisions.

Then Turkey bailed (they never got paid what we promised them for the first gulf war) so they went in with just the one division.

One quarter of what the commander had said he needed. I suppose they could have balked, but they had already seem what happens the the careers of those who question the numbers.

isn't there an internet rumor...

that the Wachowskis didn't really write The Matrix? If not can we start one?

oh and Harry Dean Stanton for the swampy roll

Monday, May 12, 2008 10:54 AM

typical rightwing inversion of reality

I have found it helpful in such cases when a pundent speaks to subsitute the word democrat for republican to get a clearer veiw of what might be going on.

Friday, May 16, 2008 04:12 PM

When did this get started?

Who was the first cadidate's wife to address the convention? So a guy can't run for president anymore if he has a shy wife who isn't comfortable with public speaking?

Friday, August 29, 2008 11:53 AM
Original article: Who is Sarah Palin?

one of the problems republicans have....

is that they often start to believe their own B.S.

They created the mythical PUMAS to mess with the narrative of the Dem convention and now they are making choices based on the idea of capturing the PUMA vote.

Tuesday, September 30, 2008 03:12 PM

that's just crazy.

Just crazy enough to work.
