I thought he was talking about Clinton Supporters too
[Read the article: Paul Krugman criticizes Obama supporters]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The accusations and the excuses seem to come out of that camp much more easily. However, I'm an Obama supporter so I'll concede the possibility that I'm being biased as well and don't see the level of it from that side.
However, when you say things like "cult of personality" I start to get offended. It's as if he's suggesting I don't have any capacity to think for myself. There are other little snipes like this from Clinton supporters that make me think they are so annoyed they have to put up with Obama and why this nomination isn't over yet. The Clinton campaign and her supporters all thought this would have been done on Feb 5th, now it seems like they are ticked off they have to go further.
As far as the negative press for Hillary and such, I think many of you need to realize that this type of stuff isn't going to go away if she's nominated. There are large swaths of the country that simply HATE her. I'm not making this up. My family for example, lives in rural Michigan and when a picture of Hillary Clinton pops up, they immediately turn their heads in disgust. They know very little about her and simply hate her. They view here as an opportunist that runs for the Senate to get a chance to run for president. They see her sticking with Bill only to increase her chance at getting back in the White House. They don't care what her health care plan is, they don't care what she wants to do to taxes, they don't care what she stands for in the war. It doesn't matter what's true or false, the only thing that matters is what is perceived. All they see is Clinton and they think - never in a million years.
This is what you are seeing played out all across the country and it's not going to get any better after the nomination. It's not just from the Obama supporters, it's from a larger majority that is going to be a large hill for her to climb.

Looks like someone is making a story out of nothing
[Read the article: Clinton "firing" fallout?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Hell, I'm even an Obama supporter and I can see how much this is being stretched.

I said this after super Tuesday
[Read the article: Is Hillary Clinton's campaign in trouble?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]If she loses all the contests in February (Wisconsin looks close from what I've seen) then she loses the idea that she can win. It doesn't matter who lives in these states, what the demographics are, what voting system they have, all that matters is the perception of winning. That's what's going to hurt her in OH and TX. How much it hurts is really the issue. You can only spin results so much.
-
And She adds another reason to my list
[Read the article: Clinton won't release tax returns yet]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]to not support her. I don't really care about the tax thing honestly but when she comes back and brings up Rezko and such, that's just low mudslinging crap. The clinton's are notorious for this type of response and it's one of the things that really turns me off. Some of you might like this sort of thing but it's dirty dishonest politics. I expect this from Republicans but not a Democrat.

Whatever
[Read the article: Barack Obama wins Virginia; Republican side too close to call]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Oh, it doesn't matter. Obama only won because of the black people...er, no it's a cauc...er, oh Virginia is all rich peop...er, it was because...
Someone help me out. I need an excuse for Hillary's loss? Anyone?

Just tired of the Spin
[Read the article: Barack Obama wins Virginia; Republican side too close to call]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]That's all the Clinton campaign has been doing is spinning. Spinning so much that they are running out of excuses. I'm really getting tired of it is all. It's like they don't want to accept the fact that Barack is doing well. And sure enough, tonight I've seen the new excuse already.
Hillary lost because was it was an open primary and GOP people didn't want to vote for McCain.
When does it end? Seriously

If I were Hillary, this is what I'd do
[Read the article: Barack Obama wins Virginia; Republican side too close to call]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I'd head up to Wisconsin.
Here's why. She's skipping this and up till last week, the polls were in her favor. It shows that she's giving up and putting her everything on OH and TX. Yeah yeah Rudy, but it does have some relevance. With no speed bump (like Maine was supposed to be) Obama will get nothing but free press already talking about how she is in "trouble". It doesn't matter if this is true or not, she needs to get something that shows she isn't. A win in WI a week before OH and TX or hell, even a close loss, would help shore up support in OH and TX that is not assured.
I think it's a huge mistake to concede this state to Obama and put everything on OH and TX. If she loses, it's all over. There is no way she can come back no matter how they spin it. If she continues on after that she'll just be hurting the party in November.
She has to stop his momentum and Wisconsin is the place to make a stand, win or lose, not TX and OH.

In the Bitter Barn?
[Read the article: McCain targets Obama]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I hope everyone takes note that the majority of anti-Obama rhetoric comes from one familiar name here. It's sad too because Hillary and her supporters are getting a bad name for it.
If we don't have a national security issue or some other drastic event, I don't see anything standing in the way of Obama to become the president. You can't really make the case, in my opinion anyway, that McCain is going to be a formidable opponent nor will Hillary catch up and over take Obama except in a very unfair way with FL/MI and Superdelegates.
This is a defining moment in American Politics. Obama is not just a candidate for president, he's the leader of a movement out of this thick partisan environment in government that exists now.
