Who Is Clearly Out Of Her League.

EXACTLY

At first I thought she was a perfect pick and not much of a problem. After 2 days I knew she had no place being the VP nominee.

She really should drop out because she's just a joke now. She'd do more for herself in the future to call it like it is - that she doesn't have anywhere near the capacity to be either VP or president.

Does he even know what he believes anymore?

That really is the question. I'm not sure either. This is not the McCain I could have supported in 2000. It's almost as if he has a really bad campaign staff selling these ideas to him. He seems like a puppet for those behind him. Sounds really familiar but not something I would think true.

Original article: Say "Nevada!"

Because it is going in Yucca

Obama knows this. How do you keep nuclear energy running, which he considers as an option, but not store the waste.

This is a political dead end and Obama knows this. That's why he didn't force the issue. He'll try and score a few votes by "opposing" it but he's not going to go full on for it since he knows that the waste must go somewhere.

RE: go to fivethirtyeight.com

Have been for months now for the exact reason you mention.

Ohio would be nice to win, since that's hard to overcome by anyone but it's not completely necessary if he takes CO and NM. Add VA to the mix and everything is fine.

The states I'll be watching on Nov 4th are VA and OH. Either one of them goes, McCain is done.

Totally Agree

I hope he leads....we all know he can.

RE: People Like Him Better When He's Not Campaigning

LOL Probably!

I think as people get to know the real McCain, the less they like him. The *idea* of McCain is what sells. His constant flopping around like a dead fish to the next populist stance makes him seem like he has no idea what he's doing.

This is a good idea though, he has to squeak out a win and Michigan just isn't going to turn. Maybe with Romney he had a chance but not with the economy Michigan has.

Waste is waste, and people respond to it postively

But $3 million during a week in which the government is set to approve a $700 billion bailout -- are you kidding me? McCain had the audacity in last Friday's debate to fret publicly about that? What a joke.

I disagree. He's fighting against waste on something tangible people can point to - DNA and bears. 700 billion is for something intangible - the economy, credit, confidence in markets, etc.

It's hitting simplistic ideas with simplistic answers. You start talking about the intricacies of a policy and people's eyes gloss over. Spending a finite amount on a finite topic is something voters can make a decision on - The economic "bailout" they cannot or don't want to.

Quit talking about McCain like he's an idiot. He knows what plays well with people. The problem is that he just jumps all over the place on those populist themes instead of being consistent. This was a good line and the one area that I felt McCain got most of his positive results in the debate. Obama tried to hit him on it, but he needed to really take him down on this point (which yes, isn't even relevant) but he didn't. This was a win for McCain not a - are you joking me?!? moment for most voters.

Original article: Biden's very sincere

I am EXTREMELY disappointed with Gwen

She asked Biden the question first far more often than she did Palin. In a debate with Obama and Clinton, this would be debatable. But with someone who doesn't know the issues any more than the talking points, she needed to be put on the spot - AND SHE WASN'T. She was able to let Joe actually frame the response so she knew what talking points to respond with.

I am very unhappy with the uneven asking of the questions.

Typical O'Reilly

I still don't know why people watch this dumbass.

This happens every election - it's a common tactic that isn't completely false

They use procedural votes or anything that goes for one bill to consider it a "vote for higher taxes".

They've used this again and again and every time someone debunks it but it's not completely false.

This is politics, I'm not sure why you or anyone else here doesn't already know this.

Really sad

that McCain has gone down this path. I would just like for him to tell his campaign staff to get bent and go out on his own again. He's a good guy inside I think, just like Bush in some ways, but he's being manipulated by the people running his campaign just as Bush was manipulated by his staff. Of course this speaks to his ability to be a real leader but I think we are already past that.

Chris Matthews said that he thought McCain wasn't comfortable bringing up Ayers last night in the debate probably because he never wants to. I don't think McCain really likes all this negative crap but he's not in control of his campaign anymore. This is what happens at the end of a campaign and you are losing.

So, tell them to stuff it, go out on your own and lose gracefully. That's what I think he should do because everyone knows this negative crap is going to get him no where.

The problem is people believe what they think

Most people only care about facts as long as they support what they already want to believe.

This is sadly true with supporters of both parties.

I thought of replying in a thought out response but people don't care about that, they only care about confirmation bias and 2 sentence soundbites.
