whatever faction is more interested in killing Jews than it is in peace and prosperity
You really are a simpleton and as Glenn notes incapable of typing without lying.
So do you really believe the prime motivator for all Palestinians is to kill Jews rather than have peace and prosperity? Did we Americans who knew based on facts that Iraq was not a threat to us have any power to stop America's military adventurism? Do you actually think the average Palestinian has the ability to affect Hamas' actions any more than we did GWB? And if we didn't and Iraq survives and rises from the ashes as something more than our client state, do you think the relatives of innocent civilians killed by our oh so well-intentioned "liberating" bombs will just let bygones be bygones forever? Would you if you and yours were on the receiving end of European or Chinese "bombs for glorious democratic socialism reforms" which many of your countryman were in favor of but not you necessarily?
And on your peace and prosperity meme: would that prosperity be the type where Palestinian indentured workers travel 8 hours a day to do Israel's shit work for a pittance and aren't even allowed to sleep in Israel? Or would it be the prosperity of rebuilding your land from rubble while hoping your kids don't step on an unexploded cluster mine in the process? Or maybe the type where you have some say over water rights, or electricity generation, or free travel?
Same drivel different day. Israel's open arms, non-blockading, Palestians are less, their civilians are responsible for extremist elements, babies deserve to be bombed or gunned down, I'm from the South (that's a new one--shocker), boo-hoo for the bad old palestinians cause they don't have water or electricity or whatever else those meanie Israeli's are blockading, lay down and submit.
Like I said, you particular brand of anti-morality idiocy is all too prevalent. The world will be a much better place when you and your spawn (assuming they think like you at all--if they don't I welcome them into the human community with open arms much like Israel "would" do with the Palestinians if they'd just be occupied) no longer inhabit it.
But it's been my experience that the "rule of law" is nothing but a bullshit game designed to make sure the haves keep right on having and the have-nots keep right on notting.I've seen absolutely nothing in almost sixty years on this planet that would lead me to believe the system is in any way fair, decent, or moral.
I'm not sixty, and I am a lawyer, and I'd have to agree generally. The law is, for the most part, made for and by those with power to protect, maintain, and perpetuate status quo power relationships. Why do you think unions are demonized? Most of the "liberal" jurisprudence in tort, consumer law, environmental, employment, labor, criminal . . . anything that could and does challenge the status quo has (with notable exceptions) been gutted over the last 35 years on the sacrificial alter of "economic efficiency.
As GG has painstakingly pointed out here: there is a two tiered legal system in this country--one for the little people and the obligatory "in group" sacrificial lambs who stray and those in good standing with "power" be they political, media, or corporate.
Nothing shocking about it, what's shocking is that people buy into the myth at all. Going to law school disabuses you of any notion that the law is fair, unless of course you're a "believer". I always believed in the potential of "the rule of law", but I'd be lying if I said I ever believed it was meted out impartially or equally. Much of the profession is subservient to power out of economic necessity. The country would be a different place if most of us didn't have to worry about making the monthly interest payment on our student loan debt much less the principal.
All I want to know is "where's my fecking "bailout"? You want to see change you can believe in, unshackle the 300K "idealistic lib leaning" lawyers from their massive debt. I'd like nothing better than to challenge the status quo but it ain't gonna happen so long as I'm threatened with disbarment for defaulting (misnomer because you can't--goes with you to your grave) on my student load debt. Well that and getting "lefty lawyers" on the same page is like herding cats. Sadly the very thing that makes them want to challenge the status quo makes them ill suited to group discipline and concerted effort (plaintiff's bar being the kinda sorta exception).
If prosecutions are moved forward there will be rebellion and you will find yourself in a very lonely, scary place.
That's a rebellion I welcome. I'll be standing with the "el cids" of the world. It's you who should be very very careful if that day comes because the idiocracy of America couldn't tactically think its way out of a wet paper bag. You're the dinosaurs and don't know it yet.
the "new" shooter. Pathetic. Delusional boxers-with-kitties clad nitwit with nothing better to do on a beautiful Sunday morning than "threaten" the "rule of law" loving libs with imminent social upheaval if the "their savior" who simply misunderestimated things is held to account for breaking the law. Conservative = hypocrite. Nothing new. Move along. Farragut and his Busch beer swilling hillybilly militiamen buddies will be knocking on your door very soon if GWB is prosecuted for violations of the law. I'm so afraid. Be forewarned, unless you and yours have a badge you best be wearing a kevlar vest if you show up at my place uninvited shrieking your hillybilly nonsense.
