@ lotus feet . . .

we'll allow any type of disagreement around here so long as it's rooted in objectively observable factual reality. Opinions based on delusions and blind faith not so much. That doesn't make us intellectually intolerant it simply means we base our decisions generally on fact and reason. You want to believe in the tooth fairy more power to you but that doesn't make your opinion on the "question of whether or not tooth fairies exist in the reality" entitled to much deference or respect. You want to slap down some evidence the tooth fairy exists we'll argue the merits fairly.

Oh and by the way----what in the hell are you going on and on about here all day? Your troll insult capacitor/resistor setup must be all miswired because I can't make heads or tails of what your saying to even be able to take offense. Come with some real game or shove off cause your schtick is real LAME.

@ Tommy1733 . . .

Tommy your courseness and incivility towards the host offended me and caused debilitating chronic eye and brain strain. I think you owe me a most sincere apology combined with a promise to never ever be so incredibly harsh and inhumane. That's it I'm done. I'm calling the AG of Oregon and lodging a strident complaint. I think I'll follow it up with a sternly worded letter because that's guaranteed to get results in America.

@ Tommy . . . you have shown sufficient contrition and are forgiven . . .

Congress is a racket. I can count the decent principaled human beings in both chambers on my toes and fingers. Pelosi and Reid are the antithesis of "leadership".

Why do they hate America? Why do the hate American citizens? I think electoral targets for upcoming elections have been successfully lased. Hoyer, Pelosi, Reid, Harman, Rockefeller . . .

". . . including the cynical manipulation of the leftward drift of the mainstream media."

Now you're just being silly, deluded, and teh stoopid all at once. Only thing drifting left is your statement into the juggernaut of reality.

@ neoconcabal . . .

you sir are an idiot . . . the reason nothing is being made in Gaza is because people are too busy being "allowed to be Israel's indentured servants" and starving, and dying, and getting the frickin piss bombed out of them.

Pedinska . . . why did the bold symbols show up in the subject line

and why didn't "strike" and "center" work. How do you guys block quote things using these types of commands. Is there something on the site that lists or explains how to do the "fancy stuff"? : )

I honestly didn't believe it was possible . . .

but in one thread Shooter has just about "out teh stoopeded" all his previous drivel combined. Go Shooter. Shooter is but a prime example of the unevolved. Blunt force, revenge, tough love, kill or be killed, there's winners and losers, "it's just human nature" idiocy that will likely doom the human species. While some segments intellectually and morally evolved others simply stagnated see Shooter et al.

Neoconcabal is giving him a good run for his money though. I still can't wrap my brain around how they type their responses so fast using just the knuckles of one hand. Seems like they would constantly be falling over if they lifted both paws at once. Must be the knuckledragging tripod theory of uprightness.

Oh yeah . . .

and it isn't called propoganda when Israeli propogandists do it, it's called hasbara. (h/t to Prof. Chomsky for pointing that out)

War is almost always unjustified and always a total failure of humanity. Pretty cynical about our long term prospects so long as there is profit motive in war and conquest. What's wrong with "bombing" people with books, money, medicine, teachers, food, satellite dishes, plasma tvs, . . . and just hunker down for a generation or two and see what happens? Oh right, our conservative/liberal elected representatives and financial wunderkinds have bankrupted us and the only tangible things we make anymore are movies and military hardware.

And up floats Zoltan Newberry just like . . .

the unsinkable turd you've got to take an old metal coat hanger to. I've to to hand it to you though for saying "Krautthammer, Marc Steyn and Laura Ingraham," and "very intelligent" in the same sentence. The instant classic of a true comic genius.

Kucinich and Edwards got off script and told the truth . . .

that's why they never had a chance. One could certainly argue persuasively that average Americans are too stupid, lazy, and disinterested in anything other than getting up in the morning to service their ever-mounting debt (and caring for the little Eloi) to fix what's wrong with America. It's a corrupt oligarchy bent on empire teetering on the brink of insolvency cleverly masked by a very effective system of main stream media propoganda. I personally don't think it can be saved. It can only run its present course, collapse, and then we need to pray it doesn't fully devolve into overt fascism (which it might). Only once it all comes crashing down will people have any vested interest in figuring out the "whys", but so long as 30% aren't living in discarded cardboard very little will change. I for one have been buying stock in gun/ammo manufacturers.

full blown red herring . . .

if all they have on "alleged terrorists" is their "coereced confessions" then they've got bupkis and should be released. If they've got other evidence that tends to prove they're an actual imminent threat or have commited some crime other than a "thought" crime then a conviction in a court of law could be obtained. There is no "other" morally justifiable system or administratively workable one that will yield some semblance of justice. Ours took more than 900 years to build and is perfectly capable of dealing with those currently being detained. GG knows it, every lawyer in America knows it, and Obama knows it. The powerful will never ever allow that because to do so is to prove that what already happened (rendition, torture, illegal detention) was and is illegal. Don't hold your breath for justice on this one.
