Another homerun for shooter . . .

You got us there shooter--illegal use of butter-like substances is clearly on a moral par with torture. And if we aren't going to respect and enforce the "butter laws" we can't very well ask that torture laws be respected and enforced--that would be hypocrisy by definition. Yup. Hey did you know there are all kinds of antiquated laws on the books that no serious person would suggest we enforce? Is it hypocrisy that we aren't clamoring to enforce the law in a few states that prohibits African Americans from owning property? You really are a concervative genius and my new personal hero. Without your devilishly clever insights the universe might collapse into the giant black void that is your intellect.

But of course GG appreciates the C-note you sent him and PE Obama your vote so who am I to point out your shortcomings.

Here's our chance to see if anyone really does listen to "teh left" . . .

We need the same level of clarity about Warren's positions and rhetoric that we demonstrated in our opposition to Brennen.

I see it as a prime opportunity to expose the hypocrisy of someone like Warren and show PE Obama that we will not go silently into the night on any of these things. Not gay rights, not holding war criminals accountable, not dismantling the two tiered system of justice, not dismantling the corporate propoganda machine, not reconstructing sane economic and foreign policies . . .

I'm deeply disappointed in PE Obama if he allows him to speak. Particularly given the way Rev. Wright was treated.

Hey lancemiller777 . . . stop calling us facists, we aren't

the group trying to deny equal rights to all, by cloaking it in our "because we're the mainstream at this point in time" tyranny of the whacked out Christian majority schtick. You defend this guy, you enable him and his views. You don't get that you're not a liberal, you're an appeasing centrist member of this country who thinks its okay to legitimize other's illegitimate viewpoints by hiding behind other peoples bigoted belief system and then point to the left and calling us the facists. Simple as that. True lefties aren't out telling people they can't be Christian, we're just saying keep it to themselves or at the very least out of the public decisionmaking process unless and until they start achieving a better understanding of Jesus' message. Because they are so fundamentally missing "it" with their Dark Ages Old Testament bullshit that it is getting really really old. Hey when they take it the next step and tell you that it's okay to deny equal rights to people who pick up sticks on Sunday will you have a problem with them then.

What's wrong with a Unitarian/non-denominational invocation? Not sufficiently bigoted enough for the mainstream of this country is my guess. I don't live in the United States of God's laws, I live in the United States of America that at one time understood the very delicate balance that must be struck between church and state. Clearly it has become so unbalanced that a jagoff like Warren is considered mainstream. But you keep on believing you're a good liberal because you can rationalize some "political calculus" for PE Obama that makes it "all white and mainstreamy and Protestanty and inclusive and stuff".

Do people who post here even read GG's stuff and think about the validity of the arguments.

If PE Obama wants to have private talks with Warren, great, he might have something to offer. But legitimizing him, given his views and rhetoric, by giving him a big giant platform at a really important moment in history is total and utter horseshit.

I don't think the GLBT community expected PE Obama to wave his magic wand and make everything peachy tomorrow, but how is this guy Warren helping?
