[Read the article: A new low in Clinton bashing]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I already knew it going in. As Smith has already established, I am a glutton for punishment. :)

Sugarman, you're awesome, too!
[Read the article: A new low in Clinton bashing]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Even if you can get a little mean--we all do.
And, domini, it's not fake to share solidarity with other black women.

AKA Smith, if you're still around
[Read the article: A new low in Clinton bashing]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]That nasty piece of work left me feeling all negative, so I stopped reading yesterday shortly thereafter. I didn't read all the goings on, but I just want you to know, despite our differences of opinion, I woulda had your back if I had stuck around yesterday. Nobody deserves to be attacked, but I definitely know you can take care of yourself. Keep ya head up!

[Read the article: In defense of Scott McClellan]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Is this the same who wrote "Broken Heartland"? If so, what a great book, and I hope you become a regular War Room contributor!

AKA, don't worry
[Read the article: A new low in Clinton bashing]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Obama will wipe the floor with McCain--we will have a Democrat POTUS.
I am cheerfully awaiting the first debate. I bet it'll be good.

[Read the article: Big weekend news]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I mos def think that Obama would have voted against the War (occupation). In Illinois, particularly in the Chicago area, we are pretty liberal Democrats (in a working class sorta way) and this war has never been popular in this state. Also, Dick Durbin (our other excellent senator who kicks ass) was one of the few to cast a "no" vote on the war.
I am always kind of taken aback when I hear all this talk about "evil Obama." As a state senator here, he did get much passed and was pretty well-liked by others not in his party. For me, one of the greatest things I associate with him his involvement in getting legislation passed that required Chicago police to tape interrogations. That might not seem like much, but I've known plenty of black men and women who have been harassed and beaten by the cops in this city and this program has seen some success. (Although, can't do anything about cops beating up on women in bars. Bars aren't required by law to tape police.) My point is, I have seen tangible results from Obama's actions and do believe he can walk the talk.
My question to you is, if as you claim you're so progressive, why in the world you support Clinton? Do you plan on voting for the Republican dude who called his wife a cunt rather than vote for Obama? That's not all that progressive...

[Read the article: What role did race play with white Democrats?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]What the hell is an expert on "race"? Where does one apprentice to this expertise? Salon, we expect more from you.
There are entire academic department dedicated to studying race and ethnicity. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem as if Salon bothered asking any of them to comment on this.
I think it's refreshing to see three white guys talking about race, but with the ignorance about race and racism that has been displayed on these boards, it's too bad they didn't get other experts who could actually add more to the conversation. There are plenty of white guys (and white women) who study race specifically as an academic pursuit.
However, their insights on the working class was interesting. Perhaps the panel should have included a mix of these two different kinds of experts.

[Read the article: AP: Obama has clinched nomination]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]A little confused
Can someone in a rational, measured tone please explain to me what it was that Barack Obama did that so thoroughly pissed off HRC supporters to the point where they cannot stop spewing venom?
With all due respect, and I am a Obama supporter, he didn't degrade, sling mud or swiftboat HRC. He ran a respectful campaign. Didn't she effectively beat herself? Bosnia snipers, Ireland peace, siding with McCain, muslim-baiting, kitchen sink, Mark Penn, Geraldine Ferraro, Bill gaffes, at-all-costs, racist, sexist, victim-speak, the list seems endless.
Can someone point to where Obama deserves condemnation for HRC's not getting the nomination?
Good luck with that. That's something I've been burning to know for a while now.

[Read the article: Clinton says she's open to veep slot]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]So why not just let him implode in Nov to give a clear message to the crazy foolish SDs and thief DNC how stupid they have been to force their rookie messiah down our throat...
Down whose throat? I thought Obama had more votes and delegates than Clinton. I wouldn't say the SDs or the DNC has forced Obama down my, or other supporters, throats.
Also, how selfish is your thought? You want McCain to win and subsequently wreak havoc on our country out of spite? That's a mean and nasty thought...

[Read the article: Clinton says she's open to veep slot]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]McCain is far more qualified to deal with Iraq than Obama, and Obama has not come up with a specific plan to get the troops out, just general goals.
I haven't been paying that much attention to McCain so honestly didn't know he spoke on more than generalities when it came to Iraq. What's his specific plan for withdrawing from Iraq? Also what make McCain more "qualified to deal with Iraq than Obama"?
