She don't know nothin' 'bout correctin' no "errors."
To add to Robertogreen's "guaranteed" list: The "Time" people will also claim that the letters and phone calls were rabid and full of awful language, and thus dismiss the vast majority of the inquiries that were intelligently and politely written.
It's worth doing anyway. It's great to see them being called out for their lies and smears. Thank you.
Amazing how the response to honest criticism is "HOW DARE YOU, YOU FILTHY PARTISAN!" over and over again from the journalists. And they all seem to pull together to form a unified front against the evil bloggers and blog readers.
If they had one tiny little bit of pride or professionalism wouldn't they start to police each other a bit? Even when I was a waitress, if a co-worker showed up and acted badly or dressed terribly or something like that, we would say something to them, because that person made us all look bad.
But these people think they should be immune to criticism. I was very naive until recent years concerning how arrogant and full of contempt for ordinary people the journalists were. I'm glad this has all come to light so we can see.
I remember seeing the cable news during the start of the Iraq war as they cheer-leaded and acted giddy and jingoistic as men, women and children were dying and suffering. I thought, these people are very, very low people, because how could they act so unserious like this if they had any humanity?
What helps me when I get fed up with being ripped off and treated badly is thinking about how my parents have always dealt with this issue. They take a patient, philosophical approach that says something like, "Well, there's always somebody that's trying to steal your money or take advantage."
It isn't a victim's way of thinking though. It's more like a type of pride in being the little guy who's hard-working and honest as opposed to the people that try to get their money by cheating or taking advantage. The little guy or gal can try his or her best to be a smart consumer, but you can't win every battle, so you count your blessings and take some small satisfaction in knowing that you are trying your best each day not be that big greedy jerk or weasel.
Much of the initial coverage about Fort Hood turned out to be wrong. Is there anything wrong with that?
