Support the Troops

Don't fund the mercs.

Thursday, October 4, 2007 09:30 AM
Original article: Blackwater and "Magic"

Support the Troops by de-funding Blackwater

Should be politically viable and would effectively end the war.

Fund the Troops, but forbid funding of mercenaries.

Craig on Senate Commitees

The (Bridge to Nowhere, plus 600 earmarks) Appropriations Committee,

The (have no plan except oil) Energy and Natural Resources Committee,

and The (ignore the wounded) Veterans' Affairs Committee

Well, that explains a lot.

What I learned about being an artist

An artist does what the artist does because this is what the artist must do.

It is not for money, not for fame, it might be nice to make a living from it, but all that is besides the point.

Also besides the point is if someone else is better than you, or you are better than someone else. It just does not matter.

Artists just HAVE to do their art.

Maybe that is just me. Maybe other people need to compare or be competitive. Maybe its just the people I hung around with thought like me, and I did not associate with others.

Whatever.

I wish Vets would picket the building in which Rush works

With signs like, "Say it to my face" and "Rush never served".

If they were really organized, they would picket every radio station that plays his syndicated show.

Wouldn't that be fun?

Teddy Roosevelt has as much to do with today's GOP

As Jesus has to do with Fundamentalist Christians.

Specifically, almost nothing, save the name.

Larry Craig is even MORE Famous than ever before!

My kind of art

I like the style. I think these would sell, no matter who painted them, but for in the $400 to $1000 range. They are way better than a lot of stuff I see even at the university level, even stuff I see in galleries. These paintings have style, texture, depth, good color choices, strong composition, movement, energy.

The largest one I saw on the web site is 48X60 - 4 feet by 6 feet. It is difficult for almost ANYBODY to fill that kind of space with ANY paint in ANY style with a brush that small. And I counted 40 works.

To do that much work in 2 years an artist has to really ATTACK canvas after canvas.

Yeah, I would have to see a 2, 3, or 4 year old do it to believe it.

Too bad, because even if the dad did it alone I think it would be good stuff. It just would not be $10,000 stuff.

I'd like to have a beer with him

And that's Presidential enough for me!

Dems Cave?

Hey, it is what they do best!

Who is this Paglia idiot?

1) Re: Global Warming: Yes, there may be other causes than ONLY human consumption CONTRIBUTING to global warming, but it is NOT an either or thing. Put it another way, what is the down side of assuming humans are contributing to a natural cycle, then try to modify the human contribution? A few bucks? Sorry, but I am not one of these "Every penny spent must be for something that is 100% proven" guys. That is what the cigarette people got away with for decades, to the detriment of society at large.

2) Clinton, lies about sex. Bush, lies about a war. Lies are lies. Cheez, no sense of proportion.

GOP Philosophy, to the T

About Condi

I just saw a mag that said Condi gave some encouragement to Donna Brazil, who was hospitalized for some tests. I was shocked. I generally think Condi is worthless (or worse), but in this case I give her credit for being a decent human being. Good for you, Condi.

Mitch McConnell

Anything to the rumor that Sen McConnell distributed personal information on the Frosts to the Right Wing Blogs?

To me it is about what we do

We all have our demons.

Recently we have read where Mother Teresa had her doubts about God.

But, I think it is what we do that really counts.

Ron Paul's support

How is the CNBC poll different from Romney buying votes during the Iowa Straw Poll?

Paul got support on the strength of his ideas. Romney got support on the strength of his wallet.

What I don't get...

What I don't get is how fear just warps all thinking.

Don't the neocons realize that if Hillary becomes president all these powers are hers to use as she chooses?

Doesn't the spineless Dem Congress realize that if they don't oppose this, all Presidents get this to use however they want?

Doesn't either of these groups know anything about what the original framers of the Constitution intended with the Bill of Rights?

Has Osama won by terrorizing the whole US population?

Salon's Comments are not fair

Lindsey Graham is a Republican.

Everyone knows they are supposed to say any dumb a$$ thing they want and not be criticized. Faux Noise has made it their business model.

Stop beating a dead elephant.

That's GREAT!!!!

Just like our National Deficit and National Debt!

I see now that I can trust McCain to bankrupt our country just as well as Bush is doing.

RE: dara wilkerson

"Apparently Dara Wilkerson should have had an abortion when she found out she was pregnant and had no health insurance. No, wait.....cognitive dissonance here."

No. She should have use birth control...No.. Wait.

This married woman should have abstained from sex as long as she wasn't rich!

Yeh, that's it!!!

Imagine

What Presidential candidate Stephen Colbert (at his best) would have done with a Larry Craig interview.

The Craigs would not have known which way was straight.

Wednesday, October 17, 2007 07:31 PM

What is scary is that

It is probably the same 30% that think the US Constitution advocates for a Christian nation, and that criticism of a Republican President is treason (but not a Dem President), and that freedom of speech only applies to them.

Rachel Maddow Does, indeed, rock

She handles herself well and does not let others shout her down. Nor does she try to talk abouve others.

She has her talking points down and stays on them.
