So how much do drug companies spend on malaria treatment?

No potential profits, no research.

Malaria is not one of the diseases that affect a large number of Americans, who pay for drug research. Erectile dysfunction, no problem. Malaria, no profits.

But why should the right bash big pharma, when liberals are a so much easier target.

" I think his presidency is essentially over."

May I remind everyone of the word of the great sage, Yogi Berra: "It ain't over 'til its over."

No Pardon of Libby

Loyalty to party over country?

The conviction ENHANCES his resume and HELPS his future.

Why on Earth would he want a pardon?

What a supreme waste of time and effort

Haven't the elected representatives of the American people anything better to do with their time?

Impeachment comes to mind.

Thursday, July 12, 2007 03:06 PM

What do they want to hear?

Is it just me or does this testimony remind anyone of the testimonies of John Roberts, Sam Alito, or even Berty Gonzales?

Anybody actually believe this guy?

Bush calls Tommy Franks incompetent

Bush said he asked Franks if he had enough men, and Franks said yes.

So this mess MUST be ALL TOMMY FRANKS' FAULT!

LOL!!!

Answer questions? Why?

It is not like his ratings are going to go any lower.

Or that Congress will do anything.

What would be the up side?

The American people? How quaint....

Thursday, July 12, 2007 07:28 PM

Win a Constitutional Showdown?

Don't be naive. Use your brains.

They are just trying to run out the clock. And the Congress is letting him because they do not have the guts for any kind of confrontation.

Norwegian oil for Norwegian people

American oil for multi-billion dollar multi-nationals who then process it and sell it to the American people for more profits.

Socialism is bad.

Capitalism is good.

What a crock.

"Bush seems empowered"

" His self-confidence is the most remarkable feature of his presidency."

So how else would a delusional fanatic appear?

Their overwheming confidence in their own beliefs, regardless of reality, is what gives them their powe and sustains them. Brooks only reenforces the view that Bush is a dangerous fanatic.

The War Must be going well

The Dems still fund Bush.

They haven't impeached him.

All of Bush's appointed generals say things are going well.

None of the Main Stream Media are objecting.

Yes, the war must be going very well, indeed.

The "Empty Boys"

Hugh Hewitt, Jonah Goldberg, Tucker Carlsen.

George Bush, Dick Cheney, Wolfie, et al.

I never heard that phrase before.

Fits them perfectly.

Congress NEEDS new tools

New Tools = Guts. They just don't have any.

Remember how the GOP impeached Clinton, despite the fact the polls said the country did not want to see it? That's guts.

Remember how they threatened the nuclear option to break filibusters? That's guts.

The Dems just don't have 'em. It is why Congress has a lower approval rating that even Bush.

Original article: John Yoo -- then and now

What I like about Yoo

He is not like the other "two wrongs makes a right" hypocrites, which seems like the standard Bush defense these days.

Whatever Clinton did was wrong.

Whatever Bush does is right.

And that is the end of it.

EUREKA!

Thanks, Glenn. I now understand something I did not understand before.

I wondered why a clearly second rater was made AG. I wondered why Gonzo did not resign. I wondered why Bush was so loyal to Berto.

BECAUSE:

Gonzo was made AG, and remains AG because Bush is involved in "other programs" so onerous, the likelihood of finding some other AG is slim who would be a part of them is slim. Perhaps the programs are so Anti-American, Americans would DEMAND IMPEACHMENT if they found out about them.

If the other programs are so nasty, even John Ashcroft was offended, who else could Bush get to be AG that would readily do Bush's evil bidding? Who can Bush trust? ONLY the guy who was with him every step of the way, who defends the nefarious doings, and will continue to do so until he is forcibly removed - GONZO!!!

THANK YOU, GLENN

Your articles have supplied concrete evidence of what I have suspected for quite some time, that the Main Stream Media are consistently pro-conservative, pro-Bush. Not pro-Washington, or pro-Administration, since they absolutely raked Clinton over on Monica. If the MSM spewed HALF the venom they used on Clinton towards Bush, he would have been impeached a long time ago. Clearly sex is worse than American deaths and disfigurement.

(BTW, I am no Clinton fan. I voted independent twice. But, jeez, I would take Clinton anyday over the fool that is in there now.)

Beltway Media = Stoopid

Too stoopid to know when they are getting their own butts kicked... Like when Stephen Colbert did it last year.

Wow..Newter.... I can hardly believe it.

From a liberal, I would believe it. From a REAL CONSERVATIVE, I would believe it.

But from Newter...I wonder what he was really after.

Original article: Building bridges?

"it's congressional earmarks that take up a lot of that money, and believe me that money is not going to fund maintenance of bridges"

It is so, so, so different than when the GOP ran Congress. They were just so much better at maintaining infrastructure than the Dem.

And that was... when?

Interesting

Perino said it was "outrageous".

She did not say it wasn't true.

A non-denial denial.

So, I guess Perino must agree with Hillary.

A Good Bit Smaller

"I think everyone understands that by about a year or so from now we've got to be a good bit smaller than we are right now"

See the beneficial results of American casualties? Dead Soldiers shrinks the size of the American military! and Patraeus says it like it is a GOOD thing!
