If you have to...

If you have to depend on other people for your happiness, then you are in for a LOT of disappointments.

And in MY family, weddings are for families. And families have babies. (I do, however, quite understand how other people can have different opinions on this)

I agree with Gavel

Congress should send the same bill to Bush 40 days in the row.

If they did that, PERHAPS I would not think them gutless as well has incompetent.

Hate Perino?

Nah. To hate someone, you have to respect them.

Why should I hate a lying, immoral enabler?

Original article: Iraq and roll over

Oh, come ON...VOTES?!?!?

The GOP Congress impeached Clinton, even when they did not have the votes to remove him from office. And they KNEW it.

But they did it to bring the issue to the fore, and because of this was in a position to take the 2000 elections. No Clinton impeachment, no POTUS Bush.

The Dems don't have the brains to frame the issues, nor the guts to press the advantage of their majority. Cheezz, they can't even frame health insurance for sick kids, or time off for stressed military families. All they had to do for that was bring a few recipients of the GOP compassion on TV. The GOP even got the Dems to censure MoveOn for the Gen Betray-us thing.

The Dems are even less competent than Bush. Period.

If I were "Leader of the Free World"

perhaps I might take a few moments to LEARN and PRACTICE the names and countries I am supposedly leading. Supposedly, I have language experts at my disposal.

I might take some time PRACTICING instead of, say, thinking reasons to veto the health insurance for little kids, or ways I might destroy the Constitution of the US.

After all, I am the POTUS, not some schmoe addressing some hick meeting.

But then, I imagine those defending Bush are the same ones who think that being personable enough for them to have a beer with is a more desireable quality than having the brains to actually formulate and execute policy that works.

Labor?

For the same class of car a Toyota or Honda costs MORE than the equivalent Detroit made car. Yet, the Toyota or Honda will outsell the Big 3 car. Think Camry.

So, how is that labor's fault? How is that the union's fault?

Glenn, part of the problem of your thesis

Is that, while you, and the polls, are probably correct that most Americans want things like a smaller world-wide military presence, the Americans who go to the polls and VOTE a) want something else entirely, or b) do not pay attention to what they are really voting for.

I knew in 2000 and 2004 that Bush would be a disaster because that was his record.

But the neocons and religious right turned out to vote.

And the lies and fearmongering really did work, so enough independents gave into their fears. Just like the Dem Congress gives into their fears today.

I hate them, but I gotta give credit to the GOP political machine.

They are masters at playing Americans for morons.

And the Dems are totally incompetent at this game.

And incendently, as well and accurately as you write, more people know about which college quaterbacks are injured this week than ANY of the issues you raise.

Bolton to Dems:

Don't lock yourself in to a policy.

Things could change for the worse.

And Bush will do everything to see that it will.

Original article: Lee Bollinger's big moment

Ahmadinejad had the courage to face his critics

Something that Bush is too gutless to do.

No wonder Neo-cons did not want Ahmadinejad to have a chance on the American public stage.

I thought that Mormons

Were not supposed to ingest massive quantities of mind altering drugs.

Well, then again, Romney's boys out campaigning for him is the same as three tours on the firing line in Iraq...

Original article: Losing ground on Iraq?

GUTLESS, STUPID, or INCOMPETENT?

If it is incompetence, it rivals the Bush Admin and Katrina.

Thursday, September 20, 2007 07:44 AM

OK, I take some of it back

I very much admired both Ann Richards and Molly Ivins.

But the Texans on this board still allowed their state to be gerrymandered by DeLay and the Texas Legislature, too.

Thursday, September 20, 2007 07:30 AM

Texans

What can I say about a state that voted for Bush FOUR times?

Boo Hoo.

Be careful what you wish for.

Thursday, September 20, 2007 07:28 AM

Rudy, Rudy, Rudy

A pompous, ego centric blowhard that has no vision or foresight.

Knowing the American people, I am afraid he is a cinch for POTUS.

Monday, September 17, 2007 01:53 PM

What I would like to see

Is Mukasey blowing the whistle on anything the Bush Administration has done that is truly unconstitutional. I have a little conspiracy theory of my own that the reason the Bush WH is so secretive is that they have been breaking the law (or at least REALLY stretching it) and they know it.

Well, we all have our fantasies.

Monday, September 17, 2007 10:20 AM

And I used to think McCain was OK

The last couple years have shown me he is no better than most politicians.

Too bad.

Monday, September 17, 2007 08:40 AM

Time off for troops

Nobody wants the soldiers to have a miserable time at home with their nagging wives and whiny children.

We need to support them by putting them in the field, as they have constantly asked for, where they will be shot at and bombed, like patriotic Americans defending the Iraqi right to kill other Iraqis.

And for what? As our noble commander, Gen Patreaus has clearly stated, "I don't know."

Saturday, September 15, 2007 02:48 PM

Fear rules

Fear of Muslims. Fear of Christians.

Fear of what might happen if we leave Iraq (like that would be a whole lot worse than what is happening now).

The US will waste blood and treasure nuturing those fears.

Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda are definitely winning.

Friday, September 14, 2007 07:31 AM

If I was a terrorist I would be emboldened by

"Are we making America safer?"

"I don't know".

Original article: Fox and the White House

Salon does itself a big dis-favor

By recognizing that Faux News exists.

Thursday, September 13, 2007 02:09 PM

What a crock

And MSM journalists actually subject themselves to this rubbish?

No wonder our country is going down the tubes.

Wednesday, September 12, 2007 07:37 AM

Patraeus was SOOOoooo SURPRISED....

That he told the truth.

After he had a Larry Craig-ian moment to have Bush manipulate his brain, he came up with the Administration answer.

Tuesday, September 11, 2007 02:01 PM
Original article: Priorities

I think I will send more money to MoveOn

I am not generally pleased with what they do, but somebody must stand up to these lies.

Tuesday, September 11, 2007 01:59 PM

Mr Lieberman

Unthinking fear rules your a$$.

Tuesday, September 11, 2007 07:21 AM

Bush's Charm, his Certainty, his Confidence

Comes from his fanaticism. He is a mindless, unthinking fanatic.

And the more the facts are against him, the more effort he puts into his cause - the mark of a true fanatic.
