Oh, I forgot.

She is NOT a friend of middle class families. As Gov. Palin, her state has a huge surplus, $Tens of Billions. Yet, to balance the budget, she CUT many social programs for the weakest in society.

JUST LIKE A BUSH REPUBLICAN

Do not mention her gender, say Mayor or Gov. Stick strictly to simple facts. Repeat over and over and over and over.

And as for Biden

When Biden debates her, ignore her completely as possible.

Attack the McCain plan, attack what is stated on his website. Question the policies of Bush and McCain. Question the holes of the McCain policy. Do not address her directly. Do not get cute. Say hello, then goodbye.

Let her respond to him. When she does, answer simply, directly, and with facts or widely regarded opinion. Do not engage in anything that can be interpreted as debate, except when the moderator asks. Do not be clever. Do not rise to bait. No snark. Answer the question ONLY.

Get the idea?

Hard to attack her lies

Because most of them contain a grain of truth. Then you are stuck with parsing and long explanations.

Better to stick with attacking her record, as in my earlier post.

There is a LOT there. I gave just a few examples.

Do NOT Count on Corporate Media

Corporate Media is in the tank with the GOP.

If they were not, McCain would be called on his gaffes, like Obama is.

Palin would be questioned, not universally admired.

The polls show the low information voters LOVE her.

And the Corporate Press LOVES her. They are getting a little snitty about not getting interviews, but if they hit her, they will not get interviews ever. Do not count on them. At all.

Hit her on her poor record.

Over and over and over and over.

@Ryan Adams---and to Joan Walsh - yes

Yes. Please.

Palin is not going to go away.

That is why I post these suggestions.

Maybe there is something you can use.

Another Ad

Hopefully with 3 Nationally known women.

(Show a clip of Sarah or McCain saying she is a Reformer)

"How does a small town of 5000 get $27 mill in Federal Earmarks?"

"The mayor hired lobbyist Steven Silver to contact convicted Jack Abramoff"

"She also was a director for two years of a 527 for indicted Alaska Sen. Ted Stevens"

"527's can raise unlimited money, often given by corporations, for political purposes."

(If there is a female governor or mayor) "In my town, we never got this kind of money. But we did not hire Washington lobbyists for taxpayer money."

"She may be new, but she is no reformer"

"She acts just like a Bush Republican"

These are all cold, dispassionate facts. Please verify them. I also do not understand the exact relation and time line of all the events. But I think this will work as a TV ad.

I think it will work in all 50 states.

@gehgoeson

Thank you, and others for the complement.

I hope Joan reads these things and can expand on these beginnings.

In my fantasy, I can hear Hillary deliver the lines.

To tell the truth, I am afraid of Palin. I am afraid of the slowness of the Obama response. I am afraid for my wife and 8 year old daughter. I really am losing sleep on this.

Do what you have to do.

We cannot afford to lose.

Yet Another Ad

Gov Palin is no friend to mothers or children.

"Women's organizations complained that Palin rejected requests to increase funding for healthcare for low-income children and for combating domestic violence. They said she cut funding for programs for disabled veterans, victims' assistance and the Literacy Council of Alaska." - LA Times 9/05/08

Just like a Bush Republican.

These are issues close to Hillary's heart. There are many specific programs. It is better to name them than say "programs for the poor".

They undermine her cred as an advocate of families, as she and McCain portrayed her.

Stick with plain, unembellished facts.

@gehgoeson

Good news for you. I am pleased for you.

And me, I am fighting. More contributions.

Next week I volunteer time.

One more:

"The State of Alaska has an oil surplus of $35 Billion.

In 2007 Gov Palin gave each Alaskan $1200 (or whatever, I see different numbers)

Yet, Gov. Palin, accepted $2.4 Billion (i think) of Tax Payer Earmarks.

That is just greedy.

JUST LIKE A BUSH REPUBLICAN."

@Jet Myth

Follow this thread.

This is why attacking the lies does not work. There is all this parsing, defining words, etc. The accusations get bogged down in the argument and the facts are lost.

Play offense. Stick with simple facts, do not embellish, do not judge. (Although I did in my last post when I used "greedy").

The plain facts are bad enough.

No Sexism, Just facts

Just stick to the facts. They are pretty bad, without exaggeration or embellishment.

Surely, Hillary can stick a few basic facts in her overall speech.

See earlier posts.

The Dems checked her out before, in 2006, for the governors race. (For the hard core only)

Mudflats is great. Check out the video by a fellow POW about McCain.

"The Palins had 26 vehicles since 1994."

@ehillesum

OK, fact.

In 2007 despite a $35 billion state surplus, as Gov she took over $2 bill in Federal earmarks, YOUR Taxpayer money. In 2007 Alaskans got a rebate of about $2000 from the Alaskan State, part of that was the Bridge to Nowhere money.

She lobbied FOR the Bridge to Nowhere, and turned against it only when Congress nixed it, BUT SHE STILL took the money. She put it in the public fund, then passed it out in the handout described above.

She is no reformer.

She is just like all the other Bush Republicans.
