It Ain't Over 'Til Its Over

There is the growing disparity between the rich and the poor.

The destruction of the middle class, and the establishment of a permanent upper class.

The lack of universal health care.

The disparity of educational opportunities between the rich and poor.

The destruction of the environment.

An energy policy that depends solely on fossil fuels.

Nice vision of pie in the sky, but I am not buying.

And HOW do we get to this "stop taking casualties" scenario?

Since he does not plan to leave, the US is in Iraq until it is peaceful. An undetermined amount of time, stretching into infinity.

MY reading is that McCain says we stay in Iraq until the fighting stops, whenever that is, until infinity.

I don't understand how one would pay for a national defense, strong or otherwise, when the nation's economy is destroyed and the nation's money is worthless.

One thing I have learned in the past 12 years is the the GOP has no idea how to run an economy. Good for business? Is that why we have a housing crisis and a credit crunch? Wanna look at government debt and revenues during the GOP years?

(I wouldn't mention public safety, like poison food and toys from China and unsafe food like Mad Cow Beef and salmonellaed tomatoes, except that I already did.)

Voting on talent

As a political junkie, I have been watching all the races fairly closely.

I saw the GOP contenders flounder away. McCain won mostly by attrition.

I have been watching McCain for decades, and saw his 2000 presidential bid, as well as his current flip flopping around with a poor message and a lousy organization.

I saw Hillary run an OK campaign, not great, but OK.

I saw Barrack take the nomination away from Hillary, starting from almost nothing.

I KNOW this campaign is the largest enterprise McCain has ever run.

I KNOW this campaign is the largest enterprise Obama has ever run.

Based on the RESULTS, I know whom I would pick to run the country.

Nor can they manage the dollar.

They can't win a war against a third world nation.

They can't rebuild an AMERICAN city after 2 years.

Affirmation

I get the "satire" of the cover. In the small SouthWest Toss up state in which I live, the Fox News viewers call this cover "affirmation".

I work in a government facility where almost everyone VOTES. A bunch here think Bush is a GREAT president. I get emailed YouTube links to clips calling Obama a Muslim, anti-American, a terrorist. I got one last week. The guys who send them are SERIOUS. And they VOTE. And they are sending this stuff to all the people who are moderates and don't pay attention like a political junkie like me.

"See? The LIBERAL New Yorker thinks Obama is a dangerous Muslim Terrorist, too. The LIBERAL New Yorker is working against him. You should be, too."

This is a TOSS UP STATE. Nobody reads the New Yorker. But they will see the cover, without any explanation.

The big city liberal elites don't understand that.

Again, I work at a US govenment facility. Guys here make $60K/ yr. They watch a lot of Fox News. I get emails of YouTube links, videos about how Obama is a Muslim, anti-American and wants to destroy America. I got some last week.

You think they will see this as satire, or "See, even the LIBERAL (spitting the word out like it was poison) New Yorker thinks Obama is a danger to the US"?
