Wrong

"It honestly reassures me once again that a passion for current feminism is alive and urgent among young women"

Wrong - there is no war against xmas, boys or christians - but if you repeat it enough in the media, and in conservative groups, everyone believes it - there are no powerful, or organized feminist groups on the campus, but if you listen to talk show hosts, Washington Post and Fox - the evils of feminism are real, and these girls are organizing, because they believe in the conservative media, not because there is an equal and oposing group on campus. There is just this group, and the rest of the student population, who will only hear their side.

My favorite conservitive critism of the nebulous, never identified shadow orginzation of feminist - the "tree hugging fem-a-nazis"

Yes, its just a doll

But it is a well made doll, that when given to my 3year survived all kinds of torture intact - cheap barbies, bratz can't say that.

Also when she drew on the doll in ink, I emailed the company and they sent a recipe for something that actually got the ink off and restored the doll. If your little darling rips off a limb - you can send the doll to the doll hospital and they will fix it. This doll will last and last, and the values on ebay don't seem to go down much in time.

The dolls/stories have no tie ins to the terrible shows on tv, or commercials pertending to be shows, that teach values that you as a parent object to.

Turn off the t.v. and let your kid expand her mind with imaginary wholesome play and reading! When you add up the price of cheap toys after a couple of years, and then look and see that the only toy to survive is the American Girl doll - it doesn't look so expensive.

And no matter what ethinic group your kid can get a doll that looks like her - the earlier poster about the jewish doll was wrong, she might have to go to ebay to get the desired model, if it is not in the current offering, but the company rotates through just about everything.

Personally I am hoping I can talk my 13 year old out of hers, so I don't have to get another for the 4 year old.

(But I doubt it - how many kids hold on to one toy for 6-8 years?)

Asian & Jewish dolls

So they don't have enough of these types?

Does barbie or bratz - no ..or anyother major

doll brand, atleast they try and they keep introducing

new ones, the latest series is American Indian,

and not a disney version ... far more useful to

a kid. And if you keep writting letters, no doubt you

will see more dolls.

There is also an Asian doll in the series American Girl puts out for older girls, and I thought those all had stories, not the 18in dolls, but the smaller set for older girls. Looking at their other lines might help.

Its not about the cloths you wear

When I was 13 with my folks at Disney World, I was touched by some guy in costume. I froze, didn't do a damn thing, and in college when it happened again, froze - shock that such a thing would happen. Years latter and as a mom, if anyone did that I would scream and yell, file law suites, hound the guy until he was fired and embarrassed in front of girlfriend/parents/co-workers what ever it took - and the thought of anyone touching my now 13 year old kid drives me nuts.

I've talked to her, and I hope she doesn't freeze like I did.

But just a touch in a private place in a public place, is very traumatic, especially to someone young.

These guys don't care what you’re wearing, and as for the assholes going on about guys will be guys - and fantasying about women, does that include girls? - Or anyone who has boobs regardless of age? I was a B cup at 13, and curvy - 5'6, no one ever believed I was only 13 - and unfortunately so is my kid- the real shame is that I have to think it is unfortunate that my kid looks good and is curvy, because the assholes on this list are probably raising young boys who will think it is ok to stare, harass, and touch any young piece of ass they see, but hay its ok because it is biology

us poor guys have no self control (poor things) - you better hope you kid doesn't touch my kid, or they will be embarrassed in front of the whole school, and I will press charges and have them arrested, and I will talk to the parents, the PTA and other kids parents. My kid will not go through the harassment I had to put up with from boys being boys. Nor am I the only mom from hell, who will not tolerate the hell I went through as a well developed early bloomer in school or public happening to my kid, just because guys have no self control.
