Original article: The economic Civil War

Instead of spreading the tax returns ....

So when we all pay for our federal taxes, the Blue states note that they get alot less back from the Fed then they paid in. And the red states get alot more back then they paid in... Which is why the red states can afford the zero taxes to corporations they used to get those companies to move there in the first place.

It is why the red states can have non-union jobs that don't cover many benefits and pay low, because the fed will feel sorry for them and send them more money in the form of social services. If the red states paid for their own social services and were not receiving the annual injection of blue state money from the feds -- they couldn't afford the policies they are currently following, that pit them against the north. And if they weren't actually living on the blue state hand outs, they might stop their high and mighty god talk, and boot out the republicans so they can follow the more successful economic models of the blue states.

The real issues is how the Feds redistribute the public moneys.

Except of course she is a slut

She confesses to hunting down, and sleeping with some one she doesn't care about -- on purpose. A guy on the hunt - makes someone think that he cares about them but is just sleeping with them to make a point to his friends? How is this different -- the drinking had nothing to do with it -- its just an excuse -- she was planning on doing this from the moment her brother asked her not to.... So what if the roommate likes her, perhaps he has feeling, perhaps he is a human being - but now she has used him as a weapon against her brother, and she doesn't give a damn about this guy. She is a creep, and a very nasty person who doesn't honestly care about other peoples feelings -- her brothers or the people she sleeps with, she is just worried that what she did will cause problems with the rest of her family, or result in her not being able to freeload on her brother again.

This woman doesn't care about anyone but herself.

Why do you think this president is pro- gay??

Other than saying he doesn't support gay marriage, and being very careful not to say anything else negative about gays -- he has never said he really supports any gay rights. The most you can hope for is that this is a non-issue to him, and he won't do anything negative on the issue, but leave things as they now stand.

I just don't see him spending any political capital at all on don't ask don't tell -- he'll just leave it. And I don't see him undoing any of Bush's anti-birth control conscience rulings on your pharmacies or other medical personal refusing to help women with birth control. He has other things to spend his capital on.

And he has made it clear he is religious in a mainstream black church -- which is anti-gay and anti-abortion, even if he personally doesn't agree with those stands 100%, he still went to a church with that outlook for more than the last decade, with his wife and kids.

It gets better, make him help with house work

"from her description of their schedule, like she's handling all of the housework, even though they're both working. I think that might be the real problem."

Agreed, next time he ask you out, let him know the money should go to a house keeper to come in once a week to lighten your load - or perhaps he could help more.

This doesn't last forever, soon the kids will be old enough for chores, and more independent.

AKA Smith

I was able to find the support of gays by the Trinity Church fairly easily - honestly to my surprise because dealing with Black Church's in liberal Portland OR -- this has not been my experience. The feelings on gays here, and the churches down in California -- tells you why prop 8 lost -- they forgot most blacks and Hispanics no matter how Democratic -- would never in a million years vote for gay rights. (And yes I know that there are individuals in those groups who don't feel that way at all - but they were the tipping point for the legislation) (I work on political campaigns on these issues, and going to our normal communities contacts on these issues, just doesn't work...)

However on the issues of abortion/women in the Trinity church-- unfortantly there are so many weird further right than the republican's going off about this church, one can 't find any facts, just a bunch of really scary blogs - that I really didn't need to know existed.

And I still don't see a lot from Obama himself on gay issues, civil unions are code for back off of the gay marriage thing. Unless the government gets out of the marriage business, it doesn't actually grant gays equal rights... it just avoids the issue in a polite way.
