Original article: U.K. to criminalize johns

Drugs vs Sex

Look if you legalize drugs, there are fewer problems , fewer gangs, and underground marketing, because supply can expand to demand.

Doesn't work with sex, because there are not enough women who want to do this work. Legalization explodes demand, and instead of the price going up on the very few who do want to do this work, criminals move in to increase supply. Sex is not a crop you can grow more of, and healthy happy women rarely want to do this work. So women/children from countries that are less economically well off be enslaved to satisfy demand in a wealthier country.

Another reason legalization makes it impossible to go after, is if sex work is legal, and I am being forced into because the Russian mafia would kill my 2 year old back home -- how can I testify? If it was just illegal - I wouldn't need to. The Netherlands is considering make it only legal for native born or citizens, so it can get at the trafficking issues. So few natives are doing it through it would destroy the tourist sex trade. Here is a hint if she doesn't speak the language, or she looks underage -- she isn't doing it because she likes it, perhaps she was smuggled in, and is underage - duh

Broadsheet runs an article about this topic about once every 3 months, so the source list is a little old, but it is not hard to search on. Start at the UN main page and put in human trafficking (it will bring up non-sexual as well as sexual) - I don't remember how I got it to sort, but it will.

the issue is world wide

Teen Pregency Rates fault of TV report comes out just when Supreme court ruling on FCC abuses

Teen pregnancy rates had been going down until the Bush years - when there was a slight increase. But the teen pregnancy rate is lower than say the 60's,70's,80's ... and tv is far more likely to have sex in it now -- so I'd call bull on this report.

Teen pregnancy rates changed - when the average age of marriage raising above the teen years. The Teen pregnancy rate went down with birthcontrol in the 60's, 70's ... the rate went down with sex ed, and back up when the conservatives messed with it. TV may lead to more risky types of sex, but I doubt it has any impact on the number of kids having sex , or the pregnancy rate.

Its just a popular scrape goat -- surprising how this came out just when the Supreme Court is going to hear a case on FCC regulation of TV content -

I can't wait for a new administration, and science being based on science again vs faith

Suck it up -- if you don't have daughters or daughters-in-law I guess you are out of luck

"Suck it up

The fact that people are willing to outsource to strangers the care of our infants and elderly is surely the the most obvious and saddest symptom of our decline as society." (ie women's lib is bad, and guys still don't suck it up and care for kids and elderly, and they don't want to - everything that is wrong in society is because women are no longer providing that free labor to their families)

This only applies to females, the childcare, the elderly care -- men are completely off the hook. And when women decide that they have other needs, they are villains, or have to suck it up. Cary why didn't you and your brothers take care of your elderly? And don't give me the crap about being further away or having less resources, its because your are guys and if you don't do it no one criticizes you, but if your sister had said no -- she would get the emails from this list about how if there is justice no one will take care of you when you are old!! Guess there are alot of guys no one will take care of, bull. This is so one sided.

And most folks being asked to care for their parents now a days are not retired or near retired, but working and have kids of their own, and trying to get their life started, and now their parents illness will drain them, their children's childhoods, their finances and peace of mind.

Folks plan your own old age, and make sure you have the resource for anything, including Alzheimer's. Don't assume you have a "daughter" or a "daughter-in-law" - plan like you have no kids or only unmarried sons.
