What will the right wing do next
[Read the article: Should we stop worrying about Roe v. Wade?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Folks
They are already doing it, they are not just anti-abortion, they are anti birth control, they already have cases before the courts, and trying to write laws even at the federal level - to allow pharmacist who have a "consciences" not be prosecuted if they refuse birthcontol in situations they don't approve of, ie the person getting the prescription is unmarried, or day after pill, or just that they don't approve of birth control period.
Anyone with a sense of history, knows the original anti-abortion groups grew out of the existing anti-birth control movements of the last century, ok folks here is a test - when was the date of the last state that legalized birthcontrol?????
South Carolina 1964 - folks humans are very resistant to change, part of it is that as most people age they become more conservative and take up the beliefs of the previous generation, when a social change hasn't outlived the generation that generated it, the probability of the change out lasting that generation is surprisingly low. Here is a research project - the 1890's were actually very liberal, but every progressive change they made was over turned in their lifetime after the turn of the century when the country become more conservative. For a change to last, it needs longevity, if abortion rights fall, the right to birth control, and a whole list of other socially progressive changes made in the 60's are also in danger, they don't just stop because they reached one objective, on the contrary they will be emboldened, and go after other social changes they don't like. Women's rights, racial rights, social security, welfare, property laws, torte laws - oh that's right they are already actively doing all of the above. What will they do after they over turn Roe vs Wade - folks they already see it as won, they are on to the rest of the list, why the Democrates sold out to corporations, and lost sight of the social agenda.

Its not a war on boys - but the Rights war on public education
[Read the article: Pollitt takes a swipe at the "war on boys"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]If you have kids in the public schools now, the first thing you note is all the things they don't have, that they had when you were a kid. And why don't they have all the things you had in school as a kid??? Lack of funding, so instead of addressing this, people try to destroy the public schools even more, at this rate - religiously run private schools will be the majority option for folks --- now that is my personal pet peeve , but how does this attach on public schools look like a war on boys.
Learning styles, modern public schools often don't have PE , don't have band, don't have sports or any activates due to lack of funding, but also
due to teaching to the test --- ie teacher pay is based on test scores of their kids, doesn't matter if junior is being abused, didn't eat breakfast, never does homework, it is the teachers fault and if she wants to get paid those test scores better be good, and of course the teacher student ratio is probably double what you remember when you were a kid.
So what does this new environment of no sports/ no PE , shorter recesses,
and tons more homework and studying then you ever did - do to boys??? There is your answer. Can the teachers change this- no , can the schools change this - no - because they are mandated by tons of stupid laws that you the voter have passed over the years to improve the schools - you wanted higher test scores, you got them, you wanted them to have higher test scores, while spending less money on the schools, you got it.... apparently the change in the environment doesn't bother girls so much, but it seems to impact the boys. This is self inflicted by the right wing school reforms, of testing and school vouchers and less money for schools. Which is funny, since as a group with a strong world view of how men should be in society, they are the ones making it hard for the next generation of men to live up to their image of them.

Its Simple
[Read the article: What the hell happened?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The media is not liberal, and the march you pictured didn't make the news,
and the news didn't repeat its message 100 times over and over again. So no one knows about it, therefor it is not true.
On the other hand the media did talk about the war on xmas a hundred times, therefor it is true and everyone knows about it.
Once you no longer own the media, no mater what the cause or how many people support the issue - you no longer mater in Washington, you have no power, you have NO effect. Since the massive pro-choice rally wasn't on t.v. more than a mill-second its like it had no effect, and it didn't shake Washington at all, they just ignored it. It had importantance in your mind only, because you were a part of it - but to 99.9999 percent of America, since it wasn't on t.v - it didn't happen. And it didn't stop the Christian agenda , because they are on the t.v 24X7 - so even if you are against the Christian Agenda, I bet you talk about its issues more - Iran, war on Xmas, war on Boys, lost girls in Aruba -than you've talked about the pro-choice rally - why because it was on the t.v.
