[Read more letters about this article: Here]

But now I see the sacred includes not just churches but hospitals, highways, costume jewelry, garbage dumps, libraries, the cruising area of public parks. Also pet stores, subway platforms, Ferris wheels

    Let it go.

  • Gerbils

[Read the article: Why is "Sgt. Pepper" so overhyped?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

This is what happens when people reared on Pop culture try to sound like competent human beings. They come off sounding like six year olds with toilet training issues. Pathetic.

Go sing your sickening love songs to a gerbil...

[Read the article: Hit her, baby, one more time]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

previous newsmaking appearances had been rooted in carefully executed, meticulously planned musical spectacles designed to promote well-packaged and -presented music.??????????????????

  • Better Advise

[Read the article: I'm a sexually active woman, but my Christian parents treat me like a child]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Limit contact to two hours. That works for me. And stay at a hotel -- between you and your boyfriend you can afford it.

    Good luck.

  • Drugs

[Read the article: Should I tell my kids about all the drugs I used to do?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

You are sweating over nothing. It is their peer group (the friends that THEY choose) who will decide if they do drugs. I was always upfront about my history -- and that included evaluating which drugs were stupid, what effects they had (= classmate carried out in body bag) and how to deal with situations as they came up. It also exposed the hypocrisy of the whole say no to drugs crowd.

So continue to be honest -- be aggressively honest... and keep an eye on their friends.

And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Subdue = Hebrew Kabash = 1; trample, 1; tread under foot,

  • Termites

[Read the article: "I only dread one day at a time!"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Biographers are like termites... every edifice, no matter how trite, needs some.

  • Throw her in the ocean

[Read the article: Go ask Alice]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

This woman is one of those people who takes a row boat across the ocean -- and then gets peeved when others don't. Bad taste. Not helpful.

  • Half-baked

[Read the article: Their terrifying sounds]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Beware, the author's grasp of classical music is tenuous.

  • Who is worse?

[Read the article: "Proust Was a Neuroscientist"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

The author and the critic seem well matched. Jonathan is no Keats.

  • Civilization

[Read the article: The godawful GOP debate ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

You know it's the end of civilization when a creature as lame as Anderson Cooper is the moderator of a nationally televised debate.

  • Sick

[Read the article: The atheist delusion]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

"They miss the moral core of Judaism and Christianity -- the theme of social justice, which takes those who are marginalized and brings them to the center of society" -- and then burn them at the stake. Religion, unchecked, is violent madness.
