Keep him talking

The plot thickens. I hope Dick Cheney keeps mouthing off. The more the merrier. He's not a very bright guy, and he doesn't realize that he's digging his own grave.

The members of the Bush criminal regime hoped, I believe, to keep enough control of the Federal government after the "election" to keep themselves out of trouble. McCain likely wasn't their ideal candidate, but he at least is a "Republican," and would keep a lid on revelations of the crimes of the Bush gang. It is likely that Obama actually won the election by millions more votes than the "official" tally showed, but whatever vote theft there was, it wasn't enough. Poor Bush gang.

In this light, it is easy to see what is going on. It is a disinformation campaign, using what little disinformation resources that are available. That means Fox News and the various other hate media of "the right." It's pathetic, but try they will. The best approach is to get the minions of the Bush criminal regime to talk more. Stick microphones in their faces wherever they go. Make them talk more. Eventually they'll all start blaming each other. It's all fodder for criminal prosecutions.

Original article: Mel Gibson's family values

Two questions

A couple of questions are begged: (1)Who cares about Mel Gibson?; and (2)Who cares about the "Catholic" Church?

Mel Gibson made a few good movies - The first two Mad Max films, The Year of Living Dangerously, and whatever the name of the movie he did with Goldie Hawn (Actually, she made the movie good.). Thanks. Beyond that, he's just a guy in Hollywood, living a life. Ultimately, all refligious fanatics turn out to be phonies, so I suppose he is serving a better purpose now than ever before.

I grew up thinking I was a "Catholic." I went to "Catholic" schools all the way through college. Then, nevermore. It's amazing so many millions of people buy into it, when it's just a lot of authoritarianism and ritual. Hmm, maybe that's why.

Here's a quick lesson on all "Christianity": Jesus, whose real name was Yeshua, lived. He apparently was an extraordinary person, and was able to heal people and inspire them. The healing part may have been exaggerated. We only have some stories about him, that are now called "scripture."

What came after was a cumulative piling-on of ritual, theological winnowing, and expansion, with increasing levels of orthodoxy and control, leading eventually to the Spanish Inquisition. Today's "Catholic" church does what it can get away with. Burning at the stake is now just a wet dream, but the buggering of little boys likely still goes on in church basements and sacristies.

There is such a thing as higher consciousness. Thing may not be the right word, but the falsity of a religion does not the Divine unmake. It just shows the unmaking of men.

Original article: Torture and truthiness

Easy refutations

An easy way to refute the claims of members of the Bush criminal regime is to point out that heeding the warnings of immanent attack would have prevented the September 11, 2001 attacks. Similar preventive measures and law enforcement activities can be shown to have prevented further attacks. All the kidnapping, torture, murder, and invasion were for other purposes.

One myth that we need to disabuse ourselves from is the claim that the Bush regime did all these things to "keep America safe." Nothing could be further from the truth. The Bush criminal regime, being a criminal organization, only had an interest in crime. It was Cheney's job to enact measures to protect the country when warned by outgoing Clinton officials of immanent attacks. He did nothing. He should be in jail.

The real question is what the purpose was for the torture. I believe it was for the same reason as the invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan: world dominance, and its resulting plunder. Simplisitic and short-sighted, the plan was doomed to failure from the beginning. The problem for political criminals is that they don't really know how to do crime. So much of their energy is spent trying to disguise their criminality that they fail to adequately plan their various schemes. Filled with hubris, they fall victim to the self-delusion that they can do anything. The only cure for this delusion is holding them responsible.
