Why are all the clips recorded from tv so quiet? This one, the colbert piece, the insipid 'crumbelievable' ad -- all so quiet that on my powerbook, I have to turn the volume to the max and hold my ear to the speaker. Other clips that aren't recorded directly from tv seem to be fine. Please check your levels!
If anyone missed how Bill Clinton introduced Hillary, go to 4:30 in the following video:

I wish Miller or Cohen had asked Costas or Brokaw whether they feel like failures as jounalists since neither has ever won a Pulitzer. That see-no-good attitude permeated NBC's coverage beyond the interviews; a few days in, my wife and I were amusing ourselves with our own NBC-style voice-overs:
"And he comes in with only a silver medal. His mother, with just a few months to live, left her death-bed against doctor's advice and travelled all the way to Torino, only to see her son bring shame to his family and his country. And from this angle, I think we just saw a tear roll down her cheek."
They should be ashamed of themselves.
Perhaps someone (Salon? Larry Flynt?) could hold a contest to find video of Bush singing the anthem in Spanish. What news network wouldn't want to run that next to Bush saying it should only be sung in English (okay, I can think of one news network that wouldn't)? And what better way to both alienate him from his core winger base and from his rapidly-shrinking Hispanic supporters?
