Bad Girl Behavior

I cannot really address why girls abuse alcohol or do drugs, but I know when I was a teenager, a lot of my alcohol and drug use was influenced by the attention I got from the opposite sex as a "bad boy". My son has admitted to the same. This may seem counterintuitive, but when your not on the football team, there are not a lot of ways to attract attention from the "fairer" sex in that high school clique culture.

Best Candidate

What people thought and how a democracy is suppose to work are not the same things.

Michigan and Florida Are Out !

Get over it. The only way these delegates get seated is if their delegates no longer matter to the race. There is no way they could be included unless they're split in half. That's it. Over.

@Juliebird

Sorry, the "....and children (and therefore, all of us)" part rubbed me the wrong way. I'm sure their cool, as long as they aren't advocating taking more money (taxes) from white guys (me) to give to single mothers and their children.

Bias at Salon

The bias at Salon for Hillary is not the editorial staff. It's Joan.

@JennyLynnF

To say you don't know jack about men is putting it mildly. Now go back to Pandagon.

@JennyLynnF

So, not only do you know how all men think, you also know men like me and my fear of strong smart women like you. Your intuition is astounding. Let me guess....daddy left before you could learn anything about men, so bitter mama taught you all you need to know.

Common Sense and Special Interest

I think the connective tissue here is Obama has run a campaign that does not cowtow to special interest groups. His message brings people together, he has not had to make promises to all the coalitions to win their vote. His campaign has run on grass roots money, not big business money. I hope he governs based on facts, not based on owed favors and special interests. This is very different from traditional politics for both parties. I think this explains why the "old guard" democrats are the last coming into the fold. Traditional democrats have always tried to string together their special interest groups to win elections with very uneven results. Obama appears to be governing towards the sensible middle. Thank god. As a life long democrat, my own parties radical wing is just as scary to me as the republican's radical wing. Hopefully clear thinking people in the middle can come together and make the tough decisions that country so sorely needs, and put the 2 sigma ends of the political spectrum out to pasture. Yes this is scary for a lot of democrats, but I hope this can be a new model for my party, at least now I know I won't have to vote for a republican this year.

The Tide Has Turned

I think boys haven't changed that much since I was a lad. Lot's of sex and someone to love are not mutually exclusive, as someone already wrote. But behavior of girls seems to have changed. My 10th grade son has already had to ask teachers to move him away from 2 different girls who he said "were sexually harassing me". When I asked him what that meant he said they were saying things to him so graphic that he wouldn't repeat them.

Victims Unite !

There's no such thing as a woman who might actually finish second. It's sexism, the patriarchy, insecure males, fear, yada yada.

Nice analysis. What about Claire McCaskill, Senator from Missouri, who also endorsed Obama. No harsh words for a member of the sisterhood ? Your misandry is showing.

Actually

I think most would agree with McDonalds take. The gist of the article is focused on the 20-25% figure. Of course we could parse the word "crisis" and disagree what constitutes a crisis, but it's pretty clear to me, this is another example of feminists cooking the books to generate a false crisis. This is the same crew that created the domestic violence crisis and every other victim study that's brought to you by your local Women's Studies program.

The only outrage I'm seeing or hearing is once again in the feminist echo chamber.

Sometimes it just a cigar

As someone surrounded by women my whole life, sometimes it's nice to be in an estrogen free zone. So sue me too. The problem with this is business and relationships can be developed anywhere and everywhere. Just cause men want a place to go, doesn't make it a conspiracy. Sometimes we just want to play golf....or smoke cigars and tell fart jokes. I would love to see the ACLU go after something that is akin to a man's issue. That's what I told them when I canceled my membership.

You Mean Rape ?

Student-teacher sex ? Isn't this unequivocally student-teacher rape? There is no gray area here. You wonder why radical feminists have no credibility, well this is clearly and legally defined as rape. Maybe you can do some comparisons of the legal charges leveled on these female predators vs. similar instances for male predators. Good to see your hypocrisy is alive and well. Carol, I'm surprised that your not asking to have this legalized so you won't have to feel "uncomfortable".

@aktnyc

Take a deep breath and realize the subject matter here is statutory rape. That means there is no implied assault. So outside the fact that a girl and not a boy can get pregnant....there is no difference. I think everyone would concede the point that there is a difference between violent rape and statutory rape.

Obama Had It Right

Hillary is a fighter. She fights with everyone....her party, her husband, the media, the republicans, white males, ....

Here's a great article that accurately captures this democratic white male's thinking. Spoiler alert, it's not sexism.
