Burden ?

I for one, would not consider it a burden to take care of my kids. Ask any man who did take on this "burden" and you will find someone who calls it a privilege. I have two kids, from the time they were born to the time they were in school full time was a grand total of 7 years. I think it's a crime that people believe taking care of their kids for in lieu of a career is a sacrifice. Yes, my wife gave up her job for those 7 years, but only because I already made double what she did. Maybe we men need to start making a stink about women working more hours, so we can take over this terrible burden. The world is upside down.

@Randy G

I would give my job up today if we could pay the bills and I could stay home with my kids. The fact that they are teenagers now only makes me feel stronger about that....as they will soon be moving out. To me, my career is a means to an end and nowhere near the top of my values list....and obviously I married a woman who believed family was more important than her career. I suppose this remains an alien concept for democrats and feminists. It use to be there were such things as pro-father and pro-family democrats....they (and I) are now considered right wing nutjobs. Of course, I also come from a family that sticks together...another alien concept for dems.

Fearful

"But a man who misses his mother and isn’t afraid to say it in public is more than funny -- he is fearless." Umm, no. What circles do you run in, that normal behavior like this is defined as "fearless"?

Got it right.

Except

Healthy well educated men avoid feminists....let's face it, this study is about married couples. How many feminists are married in old age ?

@Dottie

It's always impressive when an intellectual giant needs to resort to dick jokes. Good work !

Personal Anecdotes

I have no evidence, but I have my own personal anecdotes. My post derives from the fact that feminism over the last 30 years has essentially defined men as shit, women as victims and marriage as a tool of the patriarchy. Given these matters of public record, it's interesting to see feminists go through gyrations to try to disprove their record on marriage. Of course there are exceptions, but has there ever been a positive post about marriage on BS ? Did anyone notice Dorothy skipped a generation in her personal anecdote...wonder why? Maybe we should poll Salon's writers for their record on marriage...as the church lady would say...."never mind".

Special Rules Crowd

I like this kind of thread because it really lays bare the hypocrisy that is feminism. Some of the most strident and offensive people in the thread are the same ones claiming the victim's mantle. Yes it's OK for the female trolls to try to humiliate men...and instigate personal attacks....but if you return fire....they cry victim. And then wonder why they don't get respect? It's a good thing attitudes toward men are so positive and healthy, what would we do without the women's studies crowd.

Well...in this particular thread Sandra M post from page 2 would be an example of an offensive misandrist troll...err post. I'm sure you recall the thread a while back on social media sites where greeneyedkzin had her meltdown at the suggestion someone might disagree with her personal experience. My experience tells me some liberal feminists feel their hate is justified...and therefor appropriate.

Buyers Remorse

I can't believe this post didn't include rape accusations as buyers remorse. That's what this is really about....see if someone put something in your drink...there were sinister premeditated actions at play....but if a woman just drank too much...well, that sounds like a personal accountability issue. That's what the date-rape drug hypothesis does, it eliminates female accountability. The reason this study is important is because it goes directly to the false rape accusation problem that liberal feminists believe doesn't exist. So just to be clear, this is NOT about clear cut violent rape....this is about the grey area of he said/she said.....when she can't (or won't) remember what happened (and maybe her boyfriend wants to know where she was last night).

Soooo....

David Letterman really is a sexist pig ? I can't keep up.

Actually I was on recored as calling Letterman out as soon as this story came out. Independent of how many women writers there are at his office....or any other....your not suppose to boink people that work for you. I have had the training at GE, IBM, Textron, Cisco....etc...ad nauseum.

Men, Too II

Given men are raped, murdered, robbed, and assaulted more than women, I wouldn't expect any changes from the use of date rape drugs on them.

Lame

I support abortion coverage, but it doesn't change the fact that your propaganda on the subject is quite lame.

Figurative ?

What in the world is a figurative buffalo springfield t-shirt ? Is it really necessary to have a he said/she said movie critic ? Personal politics really shouldnt drive all your reviews.

Or

We can continue to pretend single motherhood is a good thing for boys, and continue to pass laws that make fatherhood unimportant, while gangs of boys run wild through the streets.

Reality Check

Men grow more content as they age. Did everybody miss that fact that has been documented over and over ? Oops....doesn't fit the salon "skewer an aging white boy" ideology. Maybe it's men's happiness that is so frustrating for the puma crowd.

Economics 101

Has there ever been an end to recession that brought positive GDP growth and jobs in the first quarter of recovery ? I didn't think so.

Poor Nancy

I'm disappointed that this post is the only time Nancy Pelosi gets any ink in this blog. Nancy's been the only one exercising any leadership on healthcare reform...and I'm kinda shocked it's gone unnoticed.
