Must Everything Make You Happy ?
[Read the article: The whole "working mother" thing actually works]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I've spent much of my adult life doing the things that I thought were right for me, for my wife, for my children. I can assure you that they didn't all make me happy. Sacrifice is apparently a foreign idea for some people.

I Also Had Good Parents
[Read the article: I secretly hate myself]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]My father is an alcoholic. My mother had and still has many emotional issues. My parents loved each other and loved their kids. Whatever issues I had growing up, and there were plenty, were in my rear view mirror by the time I hit 30. Btw, my parents are still together going on 50 years.

[Read the article: The whole "working mother" thing actually works]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I don't think I should be fitted for a halo because I have done what millions of other men and women do and have done for generations. I have made my decisions. I live with them. If I think I made a mistake, I change. Do you?

[Read the article: The whole "working mother" thing actually works]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Since there is nothing self-congratulatory in anything I wrote, I can only assume your recoil is based on resentment ? Are you married ?....that takes sacrifice, do you have children ? that takes sacrifice. You sound like someone who hasn't learned to appreciate that sacrifice is sometimes required for the better of others you love. Why does that make me your personal target ? Whatever level of joy you experience is still primarily based on choices you make, or fail to make.

Hit Job
[Read the article: Obama's European problem]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Brought to you by Joe C. As a political junkie for 20 years, I didn't even know this critically important committee existed.

HIllary is Brainy.....
[Read the article: Clinton looks calm, composed despite bad poll news]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Yea, I can't tell you how much I have benefited from Hillary's time in the Senate.....not !

Obama and Feminism
[Read the article: Quote of the day]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Don't hold your breath waiting for Obama to appeal to feminists. Obama is pro-family....as far as I can tell, feminists are not pro-family unless the "family" does not include marriage or is between a gay couple. I am surprised he is not being slammed for being a right wing nut job here.....oh yeah, he has been.

@bernbart
[Read the article: Quote of the day]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I didn't say Obama wasn't strong on feminist issues. I said he would not appeal to feminists. Bad choice of words, what I meant was he wouldn't communicate his feminist credentials as such. Feminism today, especially at Broadsheet, is a distinctly minority view, which espoused on the campaign trail, would virtually guarantee losing the election.

Off Topic
[Read the article: Quote of the day]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I just wanted to share an anecdote about Hillary's tears which was quite illuminating to me. I was recounting to my wife and daughter about how the press was making such a big deal about Hillary's emotional moment, when I told them "It's not like women can just cry whenever they want!" They both looked at each other and burst out laughing.

Rebecca & Broadsheet Writers
[Read the article: Chris Matthews' mea culpa]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Imagine if you were held accountable to the same standard Chris Matthews is held to. Since your writing is only consumed by a very left wing public, it doesn't quite cause the same stir that Mr. Matthews does, but you are every bit offensive to this democratic man. Pot meet kettle.

Remember the 70's ?
[Read the article: Who among us does not love Ronald Reagan?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I get the feeling you folks aren't old enough to remember the 70's. At the end of the 70's America was in a depressing malaise, not unlike we are in today thanks to W. Due to the Iranian hostage crisis and stagflation (look it up, that's where we are heading) due to high oil prices, the mood of the country was definately negative. Ronald Reagan's policies may not be satisfactory to your views, but he definately changed the mood of the country, took it in a new direction, and restored an optimism that was lacking (with a Democratically controlled congress). This is what Obama was speaking to....like it or not. I voted for Ronald Reagan in 1980...my only Republican vote...so far. Jimmy Carter was not going to get my vote, as he was the one that got us in that funk....Hillary is incapable of the change that I believe Obama can lead. Wow...I am starting to get that deja vu feeling.

[Read the article: Who among us does not love Ronald Reagan?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Stagflation was a media creation ? The hostage crises was a media creation ? Ignorance is bliss.

Women's Challenges
[Read the article: Feminism: Five minutes ago?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I have stated this numerous times, however I will repeat again. I have worked at 4 of the largest technology companies in the US. ALL of these companies had specific mandates for hiring and promoting women. This included quota's at management levels and higher salaries for women. As a senior manager I know this as fact. Some of these quota's included higher percentages than what the general employee base consisted of and resulted in diluting talent in management. This obviously creates a situation where women who deserve to advance don't get credit precisely because of the quota's. Another recurring theme has been as women moved forward into senior management positions, this would coincide with their child bearing years, so they would disappear for at least 3 months every couple of years during critical projects they were suppose to be leading. Resentment ensues. I think most people support equal opportunity but not equal result. It appears to me the largest part of feminism today is really a socialist movement, pushing for equal results but not based on merit.

[Read the article: And then there were two]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Hillary and Obama together ? Gross. Sexually, too.

[Read the article: I get grossed out when I hear, "I'm a mom!"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I agree. These type of reactions seem to be coming from a much darker place. Previous anonymous post is a case in point. There is some deep bitterness about something.

since there are far fewer female than male politicians, it makes sense that women might lose interest
[Read the article: It's Super Tuesday: What will women do?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Or maybe there are fewer female politicians because women are not as interested ? Oh sorry, that doesn't fit the "I blame the patriarchy" model.

RE: Finally
[Read the article: Clinton gets her party started]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Actually, Salon will make your skin crawl if you don't support Hillary.

Whiff of Desperation
[Read the article: Paul Krugman criticizes Obama supporters]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Krugman certainly does sound to be desperate. His actions seem to be the exact counterpoint to his arguments about Obama supporters. Really have to wonder what HRC is promising him.....besides access.
