Ignoramus

Kate, you just wrote a blog post about pay gap and nowhere in this posting did you mention supply and demand as an influence on pay....ie more women in a field means more supply means less pay...economics 101. Also, nowhere in your article did you talk about the number of hours that are worked, when in fact, study after study shows men work more hours in the office. So before you get too hung up on your cooties, I suggest you go spend some time with some very simple economic concepts.....and then get back to us.

Where the Dough Is

Another thing to think about....I got an undergrad in mechanical engineering...then I got an MBA....and I ended up working in IT. Why ? Because I chased the $$$$. I changed careers multiple times to go where the money was....and also ended up moving across the country. Flexible work force. Better prep for it.

Liberals Already Seceded

The rants about the demise of the GOP, and angry white males has been a continuing theme since Obama won. The chief editor of this virtual fish wrap playing bandleader. The problem of course, is its not just white males and its not just the south. The information within this article makes it clear that whites as a group consistently vote republican...thats all whites, not just southern whites. White women as a group vote republican consistently, but you wont read about that on salon. No, it's much easier to demonize the angry white male than to face the fact that the Democratic party cannot win white votes. And why ? Because they're too busy insulting them by using maleness as a surrogate and pretending the problem is geographic and not message related. As a white male who voted for Obama, I dont mind saying, liberals are not as smart as they like to pretend.

Women Brainwashed

I knew it was only a matter of time before someone who write southern white women are brainwashed by da men. Poor women, don't have a mind for themselves. Takes a special kind of ignorance/ideology for that kind of statement.

@Yminale

Whatever sickos live in the south, or wherever you care to sling your arrows, the point is....women make up their own minds, and to suggest they're incapable of that is ignorance....sorry.

Confidence

Someone with confidence would have laughed off the question.... someone who is overly sensitive gets visually disturbed.

Child Support

Does anyone know how child support is calculated for someone who hasn't worked in years ?

Hipster Cats

Isn't there some way we can blame this on feminism ?

Blah Blah Blah Racism !

I would agree the protests are not representative of the american people....but certainly neither are the views being spread by bomb throwers in the liberal blogshere. The messags should be aimed at the middle 40% of the electorate....the 30% on either end are full of shit.

Hysterical Kate

This is right up there with the rape culture piece she did about Ben Rothlesberger, the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback. Except Kate didnt update the story when a coworker of the so called victim testified she was bragging about having sex with the defendant. See the problem is Kate's hysterics actually consistently hurt her cause. And the fact that she still has a job..that's another post altogether.

The Real Question

Is why does MEW gush about Lady GaGa ?

Invention

Another story invented to "prove" an ideology. Zzzzzzzzzz

Shocking TCF

I'm quite confused. The judge said "The thrust of the blog is that [Cohen] is a sexually promiscuous woman". How could that be considered slander, Tracy ? So much for sex positive.

Chill

Obama has been two steps ahead of Joan since the primary season. There is no reason to believe that has changed.

Broadsheet and Marriage

Dont mix. Cant you gals stay away from a topic which is clearly something none of you have had any success with ?

Clueless Kate

If Kate can produce a picture of another first lady wearing short shorts, than I could understand her feeling victimized...again.

Steady Leadership ?

How about some calmness from the Salon staff ? We go from sophomoric celebrations about a permanent majority due to the shrinking power of the racist white man....to this (the sky is falling). Who's in charge ?

So Confused

Although men should be able to control their own bodies, and have more birth control options, I could have sworn I learned in biology that it is only a woman who could become pregnant. So yeah, birth control is about gender.

A Woman Vents

About sharing marital assets and alimony and that's of interest. I wonder if the same "breath of fresh air" attitude would be written about a man on TV trashing his wife about the same topics. Feminism...hypocrisy is thy name.

Friday, August 28, 2009 04:31 AM

Broadsheet Propaganda

This is really getting ridiculous. Judy Berman once again reports everything that fits her ideology and leaves out all details which do not support her ideology. And feminists wonder why they have zero credibility. Hint: We all get information from other sources....not just the feminist spin zone.

Friday, August 28, 2009 07:34 AM

@bigguns

Understood. When I use the word feminism or feminist....I do mean the feminist echo chamber type feminism. I have been blessed to be surrounded by women who understand the difference between equal rights and what masquerades as feminism here.

Kudos Laurel

For criticizing men for not using condoms for birth control and as part of the same post, chastising men for not understanding only women's body can get pregnant.....just wow ! Also, why can't women just institue strict usage of the female condom....it seems so obvious ! (tongue in cheek)

Exactly.

Howard Dean

Is it any wonder Howard Dean was left out in the cold by the administration ? He would be the perfect leader to execute a systematic purging of corporate interests from the Democratic party.
