@MarnoldNYC

Therapy is within your reach. You need to take care of your gremlins before you will be able to see the world clearly. You sound like someone who has failed professionally at multiple tasks and wants to lash out at everything around you, when in fact you need to look within.

@MarnoldNYC

I have 3 sisters that are white females in their 40's. All vote Democratic. All have college degrees. All have successful careers. All have successful marriages. One of the three has spent her career in male dominated fields (engineering, computer science). Yet, none have the same tale of woe that you do. I also have a white female wife in her 40's that went to college, has a successful career, is still happily married (as far as I know) and again, cannot relate to the victimhood story that is radical feminism.

It's Not Ideology!

The Democrats are not in control because people believe in liberal views or that they're more effective, they are in control because the Republicans have been sooo bad at governing. At this point, it doesnt look like the Dems are any better, so unless something changes, the pendulum is already starting to swing back.

@bernbart

As a moderate Democrat, I think the left wing is just as scary as the right wing. I suspect that is the case for 20% of the electorate at least. Keep that in mind, when you talk about how crazy the right wing is.

PS...I'm NOT a bluedog supporter, and I DO support healthcare reform WITH a public option....anything else is masturbation.

Joan Dials Up the Crazy

Yes Joan, all white men are racists. Seeing racism everywhere you look makes YOU look just as extreme to moderates as the right wing nutjobs. Certainly no one would defend Limbaugh and Beck, but to say "And look for this kind of crazy to escalate with the party base".....why ? Because it's politically attractive to you ?

Contrast Colin Powell's comments with Obama's and tell me who looks angry and who looks presidential ? It appears your analysis is more about wishful thinking than thoughtful analysis.

Original article: The Megan Fox backlash

It's Not the Object

Megan Fox could last a very long time on her looks.....if she just kept her mouth shut. There is a long list of ahem...actresses (and actors) that have stuck around for decades without any talent. The problem is every time Megan Fox speaks she says something stupid and/or offensive.

Scary Stuff

When Joan writes a column like this and I end up coming down on the same side as Thomas Sowell......well that scares the crap out of me. But it is quite instructive in showing how Democrats cannot maintain any lasting majority because of their own fringe zealots.

Democratic Infighting

It's not the GOP thats the problem. Its the Democratic party. Obama shouldnt need any help from the GOP to get things done, but the radical wing of the party is not happy unless they marginalize the moderate wing of the party. The 30-40% of the country that listens to Beck and Limbaugh are never going to be "turned around", so what's the point of even talking about them ? The question is, can you govern with help from moderates ? ....which is the ONLY thing that matters. It's looking like the Dems cannot, even with significant majorities. Part of the problem is liberals, and Joan especially, cant seem to talk about race without implicating all white people...men especially.

climate of hate, paranoia and demonization

I think Joan hit on an important topic when she talks about the climate of hate, paranoia and demonization. This is not a one way street and this an accurate description of the way Joan and many liberal writers have been communicating since Obama took office. I have also been called a misogynist, racist, bible thumper....and the list goes on, for essentially being a white male who doesnt cowtow to political correctness.....ie agreeing with every view of the liberal blogosphere.

Cultural Disconnect

I think this post is an excellent example of the cultural dissonance between Broadsheet (read: feminism) and the rest of us. Let me tell you what the best thing for reducing divorce would be.....shared custody, fair child support and elimination of alimony. Until we stop financially incenting women to divorce, they will continue to initiate 70% of proceedings. It's pretty laughable that one women doesn't fly the coop....and that's news at BS !!

Original article: "I would never wife that"

Poser

Judy...your own words have outed you as a complete rap poser. Now which part are you angry about, that men dont want to marry ho's or that women are willing to marry man ho's ?

Original article: In my 20s and confused

Forget the big decision

Part of your indecisiveness stems from fear of making the wrong decision. Make A decision, not THE decision. You most likely will change careers/jobs/direction at least 3 or 4 times over the years, so don't be afraid to try something. If it doesn't work, try again. Life is a journey...not a destination. Happiness, heh... I won't even try that, its not something others can tell you how to achieve. But if your not happy....you'll know it, so it will be time for a change. I would luv to have the anxiety of being 20 something and not sure what i want to do....again.

He's Right

GOPer's will not defeat healthcare reform. Democrats will defeat healthcare reform on their own....and that is what is so sad about liberal scare tactics and GOP derision. The bluedogs can't be intimidated because they are actually representing their constituency, so they can't be bullied by moveon ads. They are in every sense of the word conservative democrats. They own you liberals and your desperation is palpable. I support a public option, but that option is already gone. Now it's just a question of how high do we raise the taxes for people who work to pay for the people that either wont or cant. The Obama dream is fading fast.
