Only a moron could find another context for the comment.....why isn't she repeating it ? Because the whole country was offended, except the feminist echo chamber...shocking.
I am surprised Joan allows this type of stuff printed on Salon. I guess they had to pull in a writer who is not on staff to find someone who enjoys marriage. And how bout that letters section ? Who'd of thought there were so many patriarchal right wing control freaks who read Salon ? Yes, I'm kidding, but only a little.
There is no doubt that there is not a one size fits all solution to marriage. One thing I do know, for sure, is I do not want any recommendations or tips from divorced or single people. If you failed, that makes you an expert at what failed for you. I would much rather see this top discussed by people that are succeeding ( which means the topic shouldn't come up in broadsheet).
Joan, your reporting is so over the top biased that you don't even see it anymore. You'd have to be from another planet to make a comparison of a cultural slang term like "splainin" to the overt racism that Sotomayor is on record for. If there is any doubt, why did she not defend her past statements ? Because the wise latina statement...made multiple times, is offensive, and she for all practical purposes took it back yesterday. Is there any reporting happening anymore at Salon....or is it just ideological drivel ? I vote democratic 100% of the time, but this type of reporting makes me think, our side is NO different than their side.
Smoking. Wouldnt it be great if we could have a fat, alcoholic surgeon general who smokes ? As long as she's female and black, right on !
America gets it.....Salon obviously doesn't. Has anyone read any polls on the nominee or affirmative action ? Well they haven't changed since this process started, and the rest of the country gets how white males can be descriminated against, while Salon thinks it's a punchline. Probably because Salon's writers have no real world experience. Not that I expect writers to have to compete in the corporate world, or the blue collar world, but the ignorance of the liberal elite is quite stunning.
A white male with 25 years of real world experience.
How would you know that ? Maybe everyjob you ever got was because the color of your skin.
Why do liberals always fall back on describing bad policy as a fear factor ? I make more money than I ever thought I would. I am more successful than I could have dreamed. So I am not bitter like the rest of you. But I will give a very simple real world example for the rest of you clueless people. Post a job for a Unix administrator with deep network skills. After you receive all the resumes, try to find one from a woman or a minority. If you can find one at all, now match the qualifications from that individual with the other 30 you received and try to determine if that 1 candidate matches up well with the top 5 or 6 from the white male pile. That's real world. The rest of you probably never had to hire a person in your life.
Go back and get a refund for your online degree. Your reading comprehension is lacking.
Did you ever have a job ?
Well at least you admit there are next to no qualified female candidates. I do agree that Indians are the exception, and believe me I have hired plenty of them. But I don't think anyone would argue Indians are a disadvantaged group.
The other thing of note....I don't know any unix experts that went to school for that. Just about all of the unix weenies I have hired ( I was one too ) started out as something else (Aerospace Engineer for me) and turned to unix because of the high dollars being paid to those skills.
Just cause your an old fart doesnt make u special
Apparently when you can't make a decent argument you all whine together "stop whining".
You have to be pretty ignorant....or shilling for a ideology, to say abusers are usually, but not always a man. While statistically just barely true, it obviously ignores a much bigger problem. Look at much ink was spent at BS discussing Rhianna. Now what about Steve McNair being shot by his girlfriend, a national headline story but not touch by BS. Or how about Brazilian boxer Arturo Gatti being murdered by his wife....a worldwide story, yet ignored at BS. Yea, you go girls ! Keep up the accurate reporting...err echo !
Colin Powell. Couple that with the spending and deficits the Democrat will run up in the next couple of years, and you may want to re-run the demographics. Politics is about competence.....right now the repubs have none, but they don't need to, they're not in charge anymore. From what I see, the dems are already showing they are no different. That's sad.
Along with the sinking promise of healthcare....is there really anything looking up for dems ? Screw up stimulus package...check, screw up bank bail out ....check, screw up healthcare.....check. This last example is particularly onerous given just weeks ago 3/4 of the country supported Obama's healthcare plan (yes, I know one didnt exist)....now that number is UNDER 50%. Yes, what a bright future our Democratic leaders are preparing for us all. Keep celebrating you intellectual giants !
Could you give an example of something the Democrats have done or tried to do to enact positive change ? Everything I have seen would lead one to believe a different party has taken over.....but nothing has changed.
Very impressive big words. Get back to me when anything has been ACCOMPLISHED.
