  • Is It Discrimination ?

    [Read the article: Women and the credit crunch]
    [Read more letters about this article: Here]

    If blacks or women or tourists are willing to pay more for the same product, is it discrimination to start at a higher asking price for cars or loans ? I know salesmen prefer to sell to women, because they generally make more money. Based on my experience with the women in my life (mother, 3 sisters, wife and daughter) women don't do the same amount of homework on purchases that the men in my life (father, brother, son) do. ie Before I ever take out a loan or buy a car, I know what I'm going to pay before I even start the negotiation.

  • Of Course It's Torture

    [Read the article: I can't believe it's not torture, continued]
    [Read more letters about this article: Here]

    The question is why Joan doesn't take Hillary to task for waffling on this ? So Joan, can I expect an update on Hillary's shameful wind vaneitis ? I smell a double standard.

  • Actually More Fathers

    [Read the article: Working fathers of the world unite!]
    [Read more letters about this article: Here]

    being part of their children's life would be a huge benefit. Fathers have always been boundary enforcers, and they don't need to be stay at home dads for that. The problem is the lack of fathers in their children's lives at all. Unfortunately that's not a priority of radical feminists.

  • Alienation ?

    [Read the article: Tonka trucks are made for boys!]
    [Read more letters about this article: Here]

    I think the % of people alienated from this kind of commercial is not significant. My guess is a risk assessment of the impact of offending feminists enough to not buy Tonka trucks was exactly zilch. Aren't y'all buying gender neutral toys anyway ?

  • Abortion and the Male Pill

    [Read the article: Adoption and abortion: Apples and blue]
    [Read more letters about this article: Here]

    Where is the male pill ? Why aren't feminists calling for the male pill ? You want to see abortion rates drop ? There's your answer. When men have control of their own destiny in the same women have (read: power), that will really make a huge impact on abortion.

    "Why aren't men?"

    Men are. I'm sure you know Warren Farrell.....little reminder:

    Farrell's "Top Ten Social Solutions with Budget Saving Results" that he claims transcend Democratic and Republican Party lines:

    1. a men's birth control pill and a paternity fraud bill;

    2. universal prenatal care;

    3. listening skills taught from first grade, with simultaneous retraining of parents;

    4. equal father and mother involvement, especially if there is divorce;

    5. more male teachers;

    6. stressing female empowerment rather than victim power;

    7. keeping taxes on businesses low;

    8. schools that are friendlier to boys;

    9. a commission on the status of men and men's health;

    10. restraining the Government-as-Substitute-Husband.

    The reason I raise the question about feminists is I constantly see/hear them complain about men not taking their fair share of responsibility on birth control. As if "wear a condom" is all that's required. How many women wear the female condom ?....kind of takes the fun out of everything.

  • @Valhalla

    [Read the article: Adoption and abortion: Apples and blue]
    [Read more letters about this article: Here]

    I specifically mentioned Warren Farrell because he is a leader of the men's right's movement. I thought one might infer his voice was representative of that movement, much like I would infer Kim Gandy is not one random voice for women. Would it have made any difference to your flawed logic if I mentioned multiple men's names ?

  • Seriously

    [Read the article: Quote of the Day]
    [Read more letters about this article: Here]

    Is it possible the judge didn't believe the victim was raped at gunpoint ? The "theft of services" statement is so inappropriate that it borders on lunacy. Assuming the judge has any mental faculties at all, maybe she thought the victim lied about the gun and filed rape charges when she didn't get paid. Apparently the victim did turn another trick before reporting the rape.

  • The Gender War

    [Read the article: Quote of the day]
    [Read more letters about this article: Here]

    If HRC gets the nod and continues to run on "women's issues", this election will truly be a gender war. Democrats will have a gender gap advantage with female voters, and Republicans have the same for male, although white males is where the huge gap exists. I expect with Hillary running, each gap will grow larger.....the net result being another nail biter election. If the Democratic candidate could somehow give moderate men a reason to vote for them, we will see a Democratic president, otherwise expect another painful loss ala Gore/Kerry.

    I won't vote for Hillary, because I have no idea what her position is on anything.

  • @Parson J

    [Read the article: Quote of the day]
    [Read more letters about this article: Here]

    This is one of the most annoying things about trying to communicate in the feminist echo chamber. The assumption that I must only be an advocate for men's rights because I got burned in divorce court and want to lower my alimony or child support. I am not divorced and I do not have child support payments, but can still see injustice .....imagine !?

    Sorry, whatever you do in person...congratulations. You clearly do not infer very well on the internet, as I and apparently Parson J are cases in point. Whatever you think you know about me, flush it, cause you dont know jack. I deny what you say because you are wrong, admiration has nothing to do with it....end of story. Ad hominen attacks only demonstrate your intellectual shortcomings.

    I dont believe I described Hillary as a liberal or conservative or a moderate. My point is I don't know where she stands on most major issues, except "She's my girl". Here's a link which highlights what I am talking about:

    http://www.hillaryclinton.com/issues/women/

    Are there any other candidates running as the "champion for women" or the "champion for men" ? This type of campaigning will undoubtedly generate record gender gaps on both sides. That will help her in the primary, but not in the general election.

    Stick to addressing my ideas, and not who i am, and you'll be fine.

    I don't claim to be a victim. I am overpaid, live in a big house with a swimming pool in the back yard. I drive an imported sports car. So what ? I shouldn't care about injustice because I am well off in my cushy lifestyle ? I have no idea where your going with this, but my concerns are more about my children (male & female) than me, me, me. Can you say the same ?
