That's funny, the news I read reports on just as many women who kill their children and their husbands, but the only difference is they are either not charged for it, or do say....3 months time in a mental institution. The ONLY place I read things like "women are more frequently praised for docility, and those powerful, intelligent women are often called "ballbusters" or "bitches"" is in the feminist echo chamber.

is obviously a mangina who has swallowed ALL of the feminist propaganda. These sad souls are out there......

  • Panderer's Party

[Read the article: So long, white boy]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

The reality is the Democratic party strategy is to pander to minorities. There is not a single positive message to white men that comes from any of the Democratic candidates. The message is invariably take from the haves (white men) and give to the have nots.....blacks, latino's, women, and any other perceived downtrodden group. I am not sure where I fit into all the stereotypical groups conjured up in this article, but I am a progressive, educated, secular white man in the south who is actually looking at moderate republicans for a candidate, because the Democratic party continues to tell me I dont matter. This could be the first election I vote for a Republican president since 1980.

  • The Book vs. The Movie

[Read the article: "Into the Wild"]

After reading the criticisms leveled against Emile Hirsch by Ms Zacharek, I suggest she read the book. How she described Emile's performance was similar to how I felt after reading the book. Maybe Emile played the part perfectly. I don't think your supposed to understand Chris....that's the way the story left me, without answers, no answers to who he was, how he got there or why. I still loved the book, which I was inspired to read after reading Into Thin Air by Krakauer.

Amen....this is something the feminist echo chamber could use some schooling in. Take a look at Amanda Marcottes vitriol in this thread => http://pandagon.blogsome.com/2007/10/08/6148/

Read that and tell me why broadsheet links to this wacko and how people like these help the Democratic party.

Sorry Howie, your the one that sounds de-balled.

"And it's much better for him to know himself as a sexual being before marriage so that he knows what he wants and needs from (theoretically) a lifelong sexual partner."

So how many times should he have sex before you would be comfortable that he has found this ? Does love matter, or should he just experiment ? Have you had a long term sexual partner, and if so, was the sexual experience with that person static or dynamic over time ?

Care to explain, in the context of this thread ?

I dont disagree with anything you said in your second post. After the first post where you stated all the things that were "best for him", it seemed to me you did think these things were up to you.

What is the percentage of women between the ages of 30-34 that live at home ?

That's the question you should ask yourself. I find this question very helpful with friends, women and even work. Are you fun to be with ? Are you interesting ? If not, work on it. If your feeling down, believe me, it shows.

  • Doris Lessing, a troll ?

[Read the article: The reluctant feminist]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Funny how the Nobel winner shares similar views with the males that post here and are consistently labeled trolls. Is it not possible for the radical feminists to do some self examination ?

I'm looking at you Carol and friends.

  • Apologies To Holly

I did read the first two comments and I'm sorry. You actually said you disliked emails that bash men. How modern of you ! And melthough had the courage to blame the patriarchy for male bashing....wow how could I have missed that ?

There is only 1 male poster I have seen wallow in self pity. The rest of the men here simply point out inaccuracy and hypocrisy. As far as how that "endears" us to this audience or how "attractive to women" we look, I'm sure that's not a high priority. You, on the other hand, debase yourself by using such tactics.

  • Congratulations !

To Drew Gilpin Faust. Hopefully her tenure will not be ended by a politically correct lynch mob like her predecessor's.

So Holly, here's an opening. You went to Harvard ! That's great, I don't personally know anyone that went to Harvard. Yale, yes, but I lived in New Haven. Now as a young impressionable man, I would have thought a Harvard degree would translate into $$$. Can I assume making money was not your priority ? As a privileged white male, I settled for state school, however I did go into engineering and got an MBA which resulted in me eventually making an obscene amount of money ( although it did take 20 years). Just about all of my career decisions were based on maximizing salary...not for me, but for my family. What drove your decisions ?

[Read more letters about this article: Here]

My education was hardly joyful. Engineering was a lot of work which I only enjoyed in small amounts. I minored in psychology which was fun. Then the MBA was a breeze, especially after engineering school. I really went into engineering because of strength in Math and Science, not because I loved it. My guidance counselor told me I was not college material even though I tested at a genius IQ (something to do with the massive amount of weed I was smoking). I figured, might as well do something I'm good at. I would do it all again. I regret starting smoking cigarettes at 15 and not getting better grades in high school, but thats about it.

  • New Federal Legislation Required

[Read the article: Taking off your bra for national security]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

This is outrageous that women are now facing this discomfort !! Sounds like we need some new federal legislation: " Women who set off security sensors with metal that is not clearly visible should not be required to remove the offending objects."

    How's that sound ?

That's fine...as someone who travels frequently, I certainly have had my embarrassing moments in the security line. But I only make each mistake once....after that, it's just a matter of planning.
