Interesting take. Hard to argue with you opinion, however I never thought that was much of a consideration....to match voting records, gender....what about age ? Should the person be the same age if gender is important, what about race ? Also, does that mean women shouldn't be candidates for other open (male) positions like Obama's and Salazar's ? This is not an issue at all about race, or Burris. This is strictly a legal matter. There is nothing wrong with Obama not wanting the embattled governor to appoint a replacement with a shroud of suspicion surrounding him, and then supporting the appointment. It's called the law. It's no deeper than that.

Unfortunately that good news about not pushing teens to marry now means these bastards will be brought up without any significant father presence. No matter how much the feminists crow about this, it's universally recognized that the single biggest positive factor in a child's upbringing is the presence of a father.
