Postcard from Georgia

Georgia is still a deep red state. The Republican machinery is dominant with the exception of Atlanta. There was NO organized Democratic effort for Martin. When Obama decided not to get involved in this race....it was over. I got a call from the so called Obama campaign for canvassing or phone banking and I said I was willing to do it on Saturday, November 29th....no one called back to tell me when and where. Chambliss TV adds outnumbered Martins somewhere around 5 to 1 by my count. The Georgia Democratic party really folded it's tent after the general election.

This runoff has no national meaning. From my view, the national elections were not decided on ideaology either, democratic or republican. It was about throwing out the incompetent bums in power, yes...change. As a democrat I wish it was more meaningful than that.

Final thought...Notorious Wes ?...your still here ? after every prediction in the primaries and GA you made was wrong I thought you would have disappeared from the scene.

AKA

"Why is it only women who are harshly judged if they engage in sex for reasons other than love? Why do we not harshly judge men who engage in sex without love or the expectation of love?"

I find it hard to believe the majority of men don't feel the same way as I do on this subject. I hate to judge people at all, but I believe that men who engage in sex without love are NO different than women who engage in sex without love. I guess it's just the way I was brought up. And I have to continue remind people I am not a republican fundie...how sad is that ? Democrats are no longer allowed to believe in morals and family, no wonder we only win elections every 3rd cycle.

PS...I get it that teenage boys think the guy getting laid regularly is "all that", but by college I had already dropped that notion.

No need to be so condescending Dr.

@Phylmom

You don't have to rub it in. I am the only democrat in my neighborhood and at work. Even my kids had to take the heat for being the only Obama supporters at school. Of course, that's what I get for living in one of the most conservative counties in the country !

@greeneyedkzin

Your free to jump into the mud with the pigs with both feet. Just don't pretend your any different then.

@amerigo

"If neither sex ever engaged in sex without love, you can be sure that the human race would become extinct in approximately three generations, because no one would ever have sex to find out whatt all the fuss was about, so many would remain virgins, nearly all one-night-stands would fail the test except in cases of love at first sight, and because 95% of marital sex would be eliminated."

I disagree with this assessment....I also think the number of social ills that the world must deal with would drop considerably by eliminating unwanted babies and fatherless children. It's not like we have a shortage of people.

"Don't get me wrong. When sex and love do coincide it is nice, but they are not necessary for each other. I love my wife and I have sex with her, but the actual sex is not necessarily any different from sex with a woman I don't love"

Just WOW ! The reason I married my wife was because I loved her and the sex I had with her was COMPLETELY different than sex I had with women I did not love. In fact, that's what turned me off about having freely available sex without an emotional connection, to me, it was no different than masturbating .

Connect the dots

How about a correlation study of social ills vs. promiscuity.

@greeneyedkzin

"First, it's "you're", not "your" in this context. People who set themselves up as the arbiter of what should be set themselves up for grammar flames."

Great catch !

"You are not the one to decide who or what I am or any woman is."

I am in my eyes...much like your opinions are only relevant to you.

You are CERTAINLY not the one to say "well, you've got a doctorate so you're some sort of intermediate thing provided I like how you behave."

I don't recall saying that....

"Don't you realize what you're doing? How much Kool-Aid did they make you drink?"

This statement has no meaning.

What Crisis?

It appears to me the only men having a crisis in masculinity are men (boys) being raised without men in their life. The fact that the men or boys in TCF's orbit are confused should not be surprising, since they are being indoctrinated into a feminist cult which is far from reality. In my orbit, where families actually stay together and support and rely on each other, the boys and men have no identity/masculinity issues. I guess when boys are brought up in an environment where men are valued and important, it makes all the difference in the world.

On Second Thought

After going back and clicking through the links, I realized this is not a serious post but nothing more than a rehash of the feminist echo chamber tripe: "What are men gonna do now that women are so fabulous?"

Please.

And Finally.....

Is there anyone than can dispute that Broadsheet is anything but this definition of propaganda ?

Propaganda is the dissemination of information aimed at influencing the opinions or behaviors of large numbers of people. As opposed to impartially providing information, propaganda in its most basic sense presents information in order to influence its audience. Propaganda often presents facts selectively (thus lying by omission) to encourage a particular synthesis, or gives loaded messages in order to produce an emotional rather than rational response to the information presented. The desired result is a change of the cognitive narrative of the subject in the target audience to further a political agenda.
