Original article: Say it ain't so, Joe!

Lonely Joe

This really is Joe's last stand. Thank God ! He will definitely lose his chairmanship independent of what occurs in the election. The right time to act was when he lost the primary to Ned Lamont...the Dems should have unanimously campaigned for Ned. The fact that Obama campaigned for him is still a sore spot for me. I never liked the sanctimonious prick including when he first got elected with his smear campaign against Lowell Weicker way back when. Joe will be all alone shortly ....neither the dems or repugs can stand him.

@pompous

Go back and reread the article. The kicking out part is his ass being kicked out his chairmanship. That's all that is necessary....and Joe will be left to wander the desert.

Original article: Putting out for Barack

Exception

The irony is dripping if you go back and read Rebecca's earlier ode to the Obama boys.....

Ogling ?

If ogling is defined as sexual harassment, it's easy to see how these statistics get so over inflated. I'm glad this guy got what's coming to him, but the rest of the post is the normal victimology propaganda brought to you by an extremist.

re: Christina Stroz

What always amuses me is the ignorance of people who think their own way of life is everybody's way of life. I know MANY women who refuse to work....they believed their entitled to be housewives, even after the kids are in school full time. And I know many women who refuse to let men into the kitchen, because the poor things don't know how to do a thing in a women's space. Just a reminder, those days aren't gone and it's not always the patriarch pushing it....and before anyone starts yelping about the right wing fundies.....these are democrats.

Reading the Tea Leaves

That California passed the same-sex marriage ban should not be a surprise. Although CA is obviously more progressive than the rest of the union, a fairly large majority of American's don't believe in gay marriage but support gay rights. I think this summarizes both Obama and my own position. Marriage is a religious and social construct which I believe should be protected as a union between man and woman. Most American's agree. In fact, I believe the government should be out of the marriage business all together. The government should only concern itself with civil unions much as Howard Dean laid out years ago. Equal rights would be much easier to attain in this scenario and individuals could label their relationship however they please in the context of their social construct.

Too Funny

A women's sexual dysfunction is because of her lover...that's rich. Broadsheet is becoming self-parodized.

@elizzybec

Pretty easy to see why your husband has no interest.

Does Sex Matter?

It only matters if your in a relationship where lack of sex matters to your partner. It's really quite simple, if you don't want sex and your partner doesn't care....there is no problem. If you don't want sex, and your partner does, its a problem, unless of course the relationship isn't important.

Now on the view of sexuality through a male lens ....say what ? Sexuality doesn't have gender constraints, your sexual needs are personal...duh ?! Either your partner can meet them or can't, if caring around a pocket rocket is your solution...I feel sorry for your partner.

@dick dworkin

In certain quarters, it is expected and allowed to complain about ANYTHING....in some places like Broadsheet, it is expected and allowed to complain about both sides of an issue.

Thursday, November 6, 2008 01:35 PM

@DirtyB

I agree with your facts, but not your conclusion. The fact that blacks in this country are prouder than ever and part of the solution, I think you will see a sustained level of turnout for a long time to come....especially when coupled with Dean and Obama's 50 state strategy......imagine that....the Democrats are starting to get organized !!

Original article: Everybody loves Michelle

Just for the record

Not everybody loves Michelle.....she has only been crowned in the feminist echo chamber.

Pot Smoker, so what ?

I find it hard to believe I am the only pot smoker that made it through college and grad school and have had a successful 20 year career......am I ? (twenty year marriage, too)

I Guess I'm Exceptional

Can't speak for all guys, but I find the opposite is true for me. I always had a pretty good sense about what my looks and confidence could get in terms of the fairer sex. I absolutely disagree with the assertion that male models don't have an effect on body image. In my youth, I definately was self concience about my body based on what I saw in print or multimedia. I still dream of a hot dog pack.....

Different Approach

I still think the correct approach to this conundrum is to pursue elimination of marriage from the government books. If the government only concerned itself with civil unions, this problem goes away....equal rights for all. Marriage as a religious institution is why these propositions succeed .....let's get the government out of the marriage business. Separation of church and state is a two way street.

@lifelike

Please don't talk about what "men" say and do....stick with a description of the men you hang with.

Monday, November 10, 2008 12:06 PM

@likelife

Well...I guess your just another emotional girl.

Tuesday, November 11, 2008 09:15 AM

likelife issues

Clearly likelife has some deep seated issues. To have such a deep hatred of men to suggest all men behave like teenage fratboys is indicative of someone who has some real internal scarring. Many of the other female posters who widely disparage men while stating how much they love men have the same thing in common. They either went through a painful divorce(s) or daddy left when they were little. If you mix that with 4 years of women's studies you have really created a monster.

@likelife

I made no such assumptions....but I believe you have made my point for me.
