Who Gets the VP Slot

After watch Hillary's victory speech last night, I really was hoping that she would offer the VP slot to Obama.....not.

Two Points

The first is that Hillary's supporters seem to forget that there have been thousands of candidates that have lost primaries before Hillary. The fact that she is a woman, doesn't mean being a sore loser is OK. Since this seems to be extremely difficult for self labeled feminists to digest, maybe it comes down to understanding what competition is all about. You win, you lose, you move on. You don't wait to be crowned when you have lost....sorry.

Secondly:

"Feminism cannot be separated from true progressive thought"

Feminism needs to be defined before I would go along with this statement. The concept of equal rights for all...yes. The concept of blame the patriarchy, or equal results.....no. You radical feminists need to learn how to compete and stop whining...or trying to change the rules.

Who's Gonna Cover the Election

Joan, it's all already been said. So I make one request. Please hire a real political reporter or hand your duties over to a different editor. I don't think its good for anyone if you continue to write about the national election. You are completely disconnected from you audience. You are completely in sync with your special interest group. I won't even call them by name, since you know who you are.

That Guy

I have driven a porsche, a dodge colt, an SUV, a ford taurus, an infiniti g35, and a number of other cars. The attention I got from the opposite sex when I drove the porsche was orders of magnitude higher than any other vehicle. Huh, and I'm the same guy...strange. Stick that in your tailpipe.

Sexism

Is is sexism when your tone for calling out women for sexism is much lighter than the tone used for calling out males for sexism ?

Sexism Exists

So does necraphelia, that doesn't make it a widespread problem. I think people are looking for specific examples of sexism in the mainstream media, since the internet has already proven there is someone out there that believes in anything you can dream up. Shakesville is a known radical site known for it's misandry. Reason #104 may be very real, but it's no different than the misandry that gets posted here every day.

@LT

As someone who has been watching Chris Matthews for years, I am well aware of his sexist talk. But hardball is a political entertainment show, not the news. Should he be fired?...I don't think so, I dont think he should have apologized either. And there are other choices, so turn the dial. Fox News....well no comment required ( I expect sexism at Fox).

I support equal rights for women. I don't support equal results. Sorry you gotta earn it. And your quoting the BS about earning dollar for dollar...well that's when you lose all credibility, since that argument was discredited years ago. I had 3 sisters that all went to college and had great jobs. All 3 got married and chose to quit their jobs and raise their kids. They eventually went back to work but I make a ton more money. How is that a sexist issue ? Choice.

Rape...well that is a difficult subject. I don't believe those stats and I think there are a lot of false accusations, but it still is a problem that needs to be addressed. I think we would be much more successful in dealing with rape if it was dealt with in an intellectually honest way. That's not happening now.

Dont call me dude !

Dishonest LT

"As long as you are busy denying reality, (Sexism is as rare as necrophilia???"

I didn't post this....

"Broadsheet and Shakesville are misandrist???"

I stand by this statement.

"A political pundits plentiful sexist commentary on the primary doesn't count???"

I didn't say hardball didn't count. Are you saying Chris Matthews is the reason Hillary lost ? This is the vast sexist conspiracy ?

"The gender wage gap doesn't exit??? "

I stand by this statement.....unless of course your referencing how much more young women are making than young men.

"Rape statistics are wrong because women make false accusations???"

I didn't post this.

This is what hurts your movement. You can't have an honest dialogue. Like AKA saying she put me on her ignore list. I stop responding to AKA at the beginning of the campaign and told her so when she continuously twisted my words, outright lied, and changed the subject whenever she was challenged on her BS.

Competition Allergy

As someone who has spent over 20 years in engineering at multiple fortune 50 companies, i have a lot of experience with the lack of females in engineering. I'm not sure what "act like a man" means, but performance evaluations are based on your contribution compared to your peers. Since it's fairly well documented that women want more time off, they often are not as productive as males. This problem is not going to go away until women want to compete against males, we get rid of that pesky free market capitalism, or create "special" rules for the girls. Well we actually do have special rules...but that's a different topic.

Overall I find this whole article terribly hypocritical. Using hotness to sell engineering ? And you approve? Onion Newsflash: Women empowered by everything they do !
