The middle age couples I know that are not having sex ....yeah they talk about it, usually have one thing in common. An overbearing wife who is continually telling hubbie what to do. It seems like sex is the only area the man feels free to say....no, since I never hear them say no to anything else they're ordered to do. Not really that surprising. Again, that's a relationship issue, not a physical problem. Maybe the trend is an increase in abusive women.
I wouldn't judge a man I don't know by what he does with his name. It's just the men I do know that went through this had only one answer for their wives....yes dear.
I am glad to see that internally the Clinton campaign realizes this campaign was lost in February. I have been saying that for months. Mathematically Hillary was all but eliminated when she got pummeled along the Potomac. The Clinton campaign has been waiting for a Republican style scandal, and have run a Republican style campaign ever since. Sorry you can't change the rules because you lost. The saddest part of this whole thing is what the long term effect will be on Bill's legacy. Hillary....politically she's done.
I agree with your assessment about what the Clinton strategy was. Unfortunately, since the numbers didn't match that narrative, even if she were successful in her appeal to super delegates, the devastation to the party by "overturning" those silly voters would have been catastrophic. This is what really turned me against her. That willingness to destroy the party for her own self interest. If she doesn't withdraw at this point, it will be clear to me she is now campaigning for 2012.
"Whereas it should have been "shut the fuck up, bitch!""
Is this the only alternative to yes ? Does this mean when you speak to your boyfriend, you don't say no....you say "shut the fuck up, dickhead !"
billcaps dissection is only a breath of fresh air if your a Clinton supporter. I speak for myself when I say it is pure Clinton spin for this Obama supporter.
Last night was a loss for Clinton because she needed a game changer. She actually fell further behind in electoral votes and popular vote. My prediction: Enough superdelegates will be willing to go on record this week for Obama, and Hillary will withdraw by the end of the week.
This is not about angry white women. It's bigger than that.
Not to mention the fact that Hillary's wins are all on the basis of the old white woman vote. Should we denigrate the importance of that demographic ?
To the FDA....please, please release the male pill. Men want to take control of their reproductive rights too.
We know you exist and we love you ;o) I was just trying to make a point about how irrational it is to try to denigrate the black vote. My wife, my 3 sisters, and my mother also voted for Obama. That covers 3 states that all went Obama's way. I still think Hillary's strength comes from the party establishment....her big wins all came from the deepest blue states where the Democratic establishment machine is well oiled.....it just so happens that women represented ~60% of democrats in those states, and that white women were the largest most reliable demographic for Clinton.
IMHO when Obama and McCain stand on the same stage and have a debate, the majority of americans will embrace Obama and realize that McCain's time was 2000, not 2008...., unless of course Joe Lieberman is there to correct McCain on all of his misstatements.
I would feel much better about this story if there was a presidential primary precedent that ended well for the dems. Is there ? Has there ever been a protracted democratic primary which resulted in a general election win for the democrat ?
Thanks for your deep insight.
Will expand dramatically if for no other issue but choice. To think woman will stay home or vote for McCain while Roe v. Wade hangs by a thread is ignorant.
What you have done again and again on these boards is display your ignorance, certainly not any signs of intelligence. I am sorry your candidate lost. Get over it. For all you bitter white woman, the real question is, are you willing to vote Obama or would you rather stay home or vote Republican ? I gotta tell you, if Roe v Wade is important to you, you will do yourself a great disservice by not voting for the pro-choice candidate.
Joan, please address the gender issue. I think you can uniquely discuss why white woman of a certain age have this anger and resentment against Obama. In the states Clinton won, white women were voting ~67-33% for Clinton. If you eliminate the younger female voters that number has to climb to 80-20. Yes Obama is losing the male vote but at much lower levels....and it appears the real anger and resentment rests with the ladies. Please explain why or research this. This is not nearly as much of a class issue as it is a gender issue. Just read the postings here. I would like to hear what you think about the issue of choice bringing the woman back to Obama. Isn't Roe v Wade the perfect issue to bring the party back together ?
Ah yes.....desperation.
NARAL endorses Obama.....but he called a woman sweetie. Glad to see we have our priorities straight here at bitter white woman central. We get it, your voting for McCain. Maybe you could start a blog on the Drudgereport ?
