Feminists Need a Rationale

I think that what Matthews offered was an opportunity to vocalize the reason that feminists (both female and male) should support Obama over 'The Woman Candidate.' Granted his rhetoric was somewhat boorish, but that's his style. I think he was (perhaps unintentionally) opening a door to express the reasons why women should feel okay about supporting Obama over Rodham-Clinton. The argument that it is hypocritical to suggest that women who support Obama are sex-traitors is kind of dubious since feminists (women and men) have never had this kind of opportunity before (or have African Americans for that matter), so of course the sense of urgency is so much greater, especially following the repressive policies of the past almost 8 years. I think the 'Talking Heads' in the movement should recognize the sometimes backhanded opportunities offered them provide an opportunity to, rather than become defensive, provide positive incentives to go against instinct and be okay with the choice to support 'The Guy over The Woman.'

Original article: The Shuster fallout

David Shuster's Wife (or Girlfriend) is a Whore

Yeah, yeah. THAT'S the ticket! Context is everything! Shuster's wife is a butt fuckin whore! But, I mean that in the new, 'good' way. Yeah. Hey, I'm just speaking live here. Sometimes, when we speak live, we slip into the vernacular and say things we don't really mean. Like Shuster is a dumb motherfucking asshole. But I mean that in a 'good' way. Like Hillary is a pimp. You know, in the 'good' way. Yeah, yeah, THAT'S the ticket. And in the words of Matt Damon, 'How you like THEM apples?'

So THIS is what They Mean by Family Values

"Six Republican U.S. senators had even vowed to cut federal funding for several Berkeley programs, such as Alice Waters' Chez Panisse Foundation, which provides school lunches at Berkeley's public schools." So this 'moral, family values' party will willingly, in a fit of pique, take food out of the mouths of children because The Berkeley City Council DARED to say something negative about their beloved military industrial complex. What a bunch of pandering, fear mongering, amoral lowlifes.

Little Boy Needs to Grow Up

O'Reilly went nuts over it? That's funny. This from the guy who wanted to take a shower with his assistant and rub her breasts with a FALAFAL!

Very cool answer but...

When John McCain was asked the same question, he responded 'depends.'

Joe, you're not a good boy

OH SNAP! Right on, Conason! We used to consider Der Lieberman a mensch, now it is obvious, he is nothing but a schmuck, a shonda, or, in the lingo of the WASP, A WHORE! If he were in Auschwitz, he would be the smiling mishpuckha(sp?)leading his bros to the showers. I had a neighbor who's parents did just that very thing. 50 years later, that family was shunned by our community and refused entry to the synagogue. That is what the Democratic Party should do to Lieberman. He is a 'race traitor,' the lowest form of scum. Why do these self aggrandizing appeasers get such a by by the MSM?

FEH!

Speaking as a Jew, I find the tactics by Herr Lieberman et al to be truly disgusting. When they scream anti-semite at every attempt to put the US-Israel-Iran conundrum into perspective, they belittle the truly antisemitic/racist actions that are actually occurring throughout the world (e.g., denying citizenship to African Jews in Israel) and they besmirch the suffering of the millions of Jews from the Inquisition through the Holocaust to today. Why is this a legitimate political tool, to squelch debate by declaiming that someone is 'anti-Israel' when we have seen within this century the same attempt to derail a political campaign by virtue of the candidate being Catholic and therefore holding allegiance to a foreign power (ie, the Pope)? Are we to say 'Vote McCain' because his loyalties are to Israel and not the United States and 'Do not vote for Obama' because he does not sufficiently kowtow to Israeli protectionism over the welfare of the United States, it's economy, security, and safety of it's citizens?

What's that about 'getting shot down is not a qualification to be president' stuff?

This guy, McSame, can't do effective housekeeping, can't manage his own campaign. How can he expect anyone to think he can do better running the country?

Thank GOD!

I never think ill of anybody, but the passing of this hateful bigot swells my heart with glee. He has been a lightening rod of intolerance for far too long and his passing is greeted here, at least, with a sigh of satisfaction. Finally, this bastard will shut the fck up!
