It is pointless to engage this horse hockey on it's own terms.

Discussion of whether the report is valid or not should be limited. Nobody (who is engaged in rational discussion) believes this crap any more.

America needs to focus on the opportunity cost of this catastrophic misadventure. The discussion should be two-pronged:

First, point out the lies involved in this latest PR game.

then quickly

Second, work AGGRESSIVELY to shape, promote, and PASS legislation on the issues that really matter to Americans:

housing

health care

infrastructure

jobs

education

alternative energy research

diplomacy and America's standing in the World

The first topic should ALWAYS be stated in a terse and dismissive manner while it should be IMMEDIATELY and ALWAYS followed by the domestic agenda items that are being ignored while this discussion sucks up all the air on the political and "news" front.

As long as we are on Bush's topic, it's all about him.

And that's what the little narcissist wants, isn't it?

put him in time out and take away his toys: war money. attention. the power to set the discussion

I'm tired of talking and thinking about his needs and wants.

That a lame duck is getting away with setting the topic of discussion is more than absurd...it's catastrophic.

The Wire

no doubt

"The Wire" is, by far, the most engaging "TV" I have seen in my lifetime...and I am far from young.

There was no pretense that human rights is our goal, or the likely outcome, in escalating the war

The crazy, irrational beliefs of Muslims

Tom Friedman explains the real problem: stupid Muslims think the U.S. is about war and aggression.

The face of rotted Washington

Evan Bayh demands more debt-financed war - fought by others - while boasting that he's a stern "deficit hawk."

Yes, it's Obama's war now

An uninspiring speech sells a dubious policy, but progressives who feel betrayed have only themselves to blame
