  • Like Glenn's work? Why not digg it?

[Read the article: Confrontational investigations, subpoenas, and hearings are the priority]

I'm a big fan of Glenn's work, and I think more people should be exposed to it. I see lots of Salon readers like to use the "write a letter" link, but very few seem to use the "digg it" link.

Digg is a great way to help ensure that important ideas like the one in this post get a wider readership in the world. Digg is an important news source to huge numbers of people.

If you come across a Greenwald post (or any Salon story) that you find particularly compelling, take a second to submit it to digg. Spread the word!

  • Like This Post? Then Digg It!

Lots of people tend to write in about every one of Glenn's posts, but not many people seem to "digg" them at digg.com.

If you like this (or any other) post and think more people should read it, digg.com is a great way to bring national attention. The link is right there at the bottom of the article -- use it!

  • Another Excellent Post! Don't forget to digg it!

[Read the article: The DOJ's explicit refusal to obey the law]

As usual, Glenn keeps the focus on the important Constitutional issues at the heart of the current scandal-du-jour. I'm definitely giving it a digg.

Other readers: Go ahead and digg the article yourself, but don't be surprised if it suddenly disappears after getting popular. That would be because it gets "buried" inappropriately by right-wing diggers.

Still, it helps get the word out on the important link between Bush administration "signing statement" practices and their effect on the real world. So digg it!

Digg is a "news aggregator". When you go to the front page at digg.com, you (mostly) see items from all over the web that are currently getting a lot of interest from other people using digg (aka "diggers").

Some time ago, Salon installed a "Digg it" link at the bottom of every article it posts (right next to the "submit comment" link that everyone here is so familiar with). Since Salon incorporated Glenn's "Unclaimed Territory" blog, these links are also available at the bottom of each of his posts.

If you click one of these "digg it" links (aka "digg" the post), you will either get the option to create a title and summary for the digg item (if it's not currently in their database), or to add your vote to the existing item (if it is already in their database).

The more people that digg an article, the higher it goes on the charts. There is an overall chart, and there are also subject specific charts, like "Political Opinion" (where most of Glenn's work probably belongs). The higher it goes on the charts, the more people out there read it, and, if they like it, "digg" it themselves.

I keep pushing Digg here because it helps get the important news and opinion pieces out beyond the circle of regular Salon readers, which is important. If you really want ideas like these to be heard "out there", be sure to digg them!

  • Top Notch Work -- Readers, Don't Forget to Digg It!

[Read the article: Democrats bear responsibility for restoring habeas corpus]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Once again, Mr. Greenwald delivers a hard-hitting jab that brings attention to the core Constitutional challenges created by recent legislation.

This definitely needs to be shared with the wider world. If you have time to write a comment about today's post, you have time to digg it and help get it in front of more people.

  • What about the good stuff?

    Hey, Tom,

Your review of 2007's politics-as-usual probably needed about 200 more panels to cover everything worth mentioning. My question: why didn't you mention any of few good things going on?

Specifically, I'm thinking of efforts led by Dennis Kucinich (and other true patriots) to impeach members of the current administration. With 24 Congressional representatives co-signing H Res 333 (check Wikipedia) and three members of the House Judiciary Committee openly advocating impeachment hearings, there's a lot more room for hope than your year-end review leads one to think.

Anyone who hasn't seen it yet should take a look at (and add their name to) http://www.wexlerwantshearings.com. Unlike most online petitions, this one's being conducted by someone with the ability to actually do something about the problem -- Congressman Robert Wexler of Florida. He wants the public to register so he can prove to other Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee that impeachment is not a "fringe" issue. Over 170,000 Americans have already signed up.

With as many as 1 in 6 Republican voters already supporting impeachment -- and many more who are disgusted with the state of affairs in this country and likely to be appalled at what hearings would uncover -- there's reason for hope in 2008.
