yes, in general people should buy and sell what they want at the prices the buyer and seller agree to, but because the market is good at rewarding "winners" (successful sellers) what happens is that the winners accumulate enough power to cheat. This is not an abberation this is the inevitable consequence of unregulated markets in an economy more complex than subsistence barter. This is why every society that has ever existed has regulated markets.

Just purely as a matter of tactics a little helpful advice: when you are attempting to convince people that one particular element of the conservative religion just happens to be based on some sort of rational understanding of reality in spite of all logic and evidence to the contrary it is probably best to stick to one topic at a time. The more different unrelated conservative "truths" that you assert just happen by sheer coincidence to be misunderstood in this way the less credible you appear.

so I am just pointing out that when you dispute something that has already been proven with absolute certainty in the physical sciences, such as the fact that man made global warming is occurring, you needlessly compromise your credibility when attempting to sow confusion about historical events where (unlike the case with the physical sciences such as in the case of global warming) no controlled experiment can ever be done that will with absolute certainty prove you wrong.

Why? In 50 years of cold war and proxy war between the Soviets and the west the soviets managed to keep their nuclear weapons out of the hands to their non state clients. Other nuclear armed states would have every incentive to do the same.

I'm pretty pro Israel but you've got to admit that the disproprtionate prominence and influence of "Likudism" in the US govt. politics and media is a very real phenomenon. It is true that some of this is due to christian fundies but to deny that "AIPAC power" is real and to cry anti semitism at anyone who brings it up only has the effect of providing cover to the real anti semites by suppressing honest discussion.

Well the Arabs could try peace, but if it happens as you say then Israeli jews will do whatever they have to do to survive, which they cannot do as a minority in an arab state, and if that process results in their failure to survive they will take down whoever is the agent of that destruction with their nukes as they go. It would be smart for the arabs to deal.

The US can and would be forced to force Israel to deal once it became clear that the Palestinians were prepared to REALLY deal (not make some temporary arrangement from which to continue the fight later). When this happens then there will be peace.
