Original article: I was wrong about Wright

he hasn't purged them yet, that is the problem

a candidate who is widely perceived, fairly or not, as participating IN ANY FORM in a "war against white people" in ANY FORM, CANNOT get elected. This is beyond stupid.

Original article: I was wrong about Wright

everyone seems to agree there is a problem

whether it can be discussed and dealt with seems to be another matter.

it's simple Thrasher, in a mostly white country you can diss blacks and still win, you can't be seen as anti white, whether or not it's true and win

pointing out the unfairness of the situaion won't keep mccain out of the white house. Obama has to deal with it, it doesn't seem like most of his supporters are going to be of much help when he tries, if he tries.

Original article: I was wrong about Wright

one thing even more tiring that identity politics hysteria

is the inability to let consenting adults deal with their private lives in private.

Original article: I was wrong about Wright

Why is staying in a marriage where one partner treats the other so terribly something I am not allowed to have an opinion on?

That is EXACTLY right you should NOT have a political opinion on it because what consenting adults do or don't do in bed is their own business. Should a woman be considered unfit for public office if her husband says she is a cold fish? Where do you drawn the line with this crap? The only answer is to stay out of it.

Original article: Obama "outraged" by Wright

I hope it all works out, obama is a good guy and a good politician so I

am somewhat optimistic.

well, lets hope most people are ok with women priests,

because the institution is giving up its ability to pressure people to accept something they'd rather not. Sure, it makes them go to the trouble of setting up their own congregation. It will be somewhat interesting. I actually think people will probably be more motivated to to set up separate congregations over gay issues than over women priests, even if they have to use the women priest issue as an excuse.

customers' hands should be chained too to prevent them from sexually harassing the masseuse.

there was actually a strip club in portland where the girls did lap dances this way.

Wednesday, April 30, 2008 01:03 PM

no actually, it was a regular lap dance strip club

among other benefits it protected the girls from being accused of cooperating with the customers in the commission of forbidden activities.

sex without love is a problem, but so is love without sex and it is and always was a delusion

that relationships which were formed and formalized in a process which excluded sex until the very end of the process were particularly likely to work out; yes under such a system people could often be forced to stay together but whether or not they have/had good relationships was another matter.

Thursday, May 1, 2008 10:49 AM

macskate, I agree with your underlying premise but in the US at least it is the intolerant churches

which are growing the fastest. It seems that a lot of people are attracted to an authoritarian approach.

if males can't do something that females can't do for themselves what reason will females have to sleep with males; THAT is why sex roles are real and persist, not become of some (alleged) belief in female inferiority

(since the average woman doesn't jerk off over the idea of an average 18 year old guy letting her see him naked).

Original article: The sex that plays fair?

men have to prove in an obvious visible way that they are better than someone else or they will never have sex, for women competition (ususally) takes place only in the context of maintainig an ongoing membership in a community

so this naturally has resulted in the evolution of different instincts and priorities.

Friday, May 2, 2008 02:20 PM

the right wing promoters of "traditional morality"

must be very pleased with themselves.

Monday, May 5, 2008 02:10 PM

it's true, it's true, it's true

men don't have to work any harder for sex than women do, science has proven it.

Tuesday, May 6, 2008 01:08 PM

women aren't bad at friendhsip, they are probably better at it on a deep level than men

there are sometimes difficulties in womens friendships that are less likely to occur in mens friendships because women, unlike men, have an instinctive emotional investment in their non sexual relationships with other women that parallels in a lot of ways the posessiveness, jealousies, insecurities, competition, love-hate, etc. that occurs in sexual relationships. This is an instinctive response to the fact that women need other women to help them reproduce successfully almost as much as they need men, especially in a traditional agricultural or hunter-gatherer society. Men are much less likely to develop a similar "selfishly instinctive" emotional investment in specific other men. Of course I am not saying anything that should be construed as a denial of the fact that BOTH male and female humans are members of a social species.

It's odd that the headline poses the issue as a question, since the facts seem to clearly establish

that it did.

if people want to make a GENUINE distinction between forced and unforced prostitution that is fine

but a great many activists are lying when they say they are doing that because what they are really doing is trying to ERASE the distinction so that they can claim that ALL prostitution is rape.

Wednesday, May 7, 2008 08:31 PM

the problem is that most activists want to pretend that ALL women selling sex are forced into it

so it takes balls for them to pretend to be promoting awareness of a distinction (between coerced and and uncoerced prostitution) that they are actually doing all the can to undermine.

Thursday, May 8, 2008 05:44 PM

It's kind of funny, these anti sex fanatics are so crazed that they can't see that condoms are their friend

it's more like handing out a crack pipe that makes you feel like you're smoking but you aren't actually getting high. The only reason people have sex with condoms is because they are desperate, condoms are probably one reason why so many people lose interest in sex when they reach middle age.

IF ONLY shitting were always natural

so I guess metamucil should be made illegal.

Friday, May 9, 2008 02:27 AM

tina and other women like her are enhancing their anger intentionally as a political tactic

to try and establish that the only legitimate way to feel or to react to anything is the way that they do. Men and women often have different reactions to and feelings about sex, to pick an example at random, and rather than admit that these differences can lead to difficulties on both sides they prefer to pretend to believe that every time a man doesn't feel, think and act precisely as she feels entitled to demand that he should he is motivated by hatred.

Friday, May 9, 2008 02:30 AM

if he says they are equivalent Allie, does he pass your test, or does he have to say

it is worse for the woman? (In any case your test will only catch extremely stupid or pathologically honest "criminals" won't it).

Friday, May 9, 2008 02:35 AM

when men hate women it is and always will be offense reardless of anything, when women hate men it is defense

and always will be regardless of circumstances. You guys don't know ANYTHING.

Friday, May 9, 2008 02:48 AM

Allie, you seem somewhat intelligent so I assume you must be aware

that your analysis allows for only three possible types of men:

1) those who slavisly toe the party line of whatever woman/women are around

2) those who hate women

3) those who have the decency to keep anything they disagree with women about to/among themselves and not soil womens psyches with it.

Like I said since you don't appear to be a total moron you obviously know this so it is interesting that you put it out so openly. Maybe you read the article about how the recession is only lowering mens incomes and employment levels and you are feeling confident.

Friday, May 9, 2008 09:50 AM

everything being said about prostitution was being said in the 80s about porn when femininists were serious about banning that too

technology has forced them to give up that dream but obviously nothing in their way of thinking has really changed.

Saturday, May 10, 2008 01:49 AM

It's like poverty--to some extent sexual abuse/violence will be always with us but we can do a lot to make it better. We can educate ourselves for starters. And we can refuse to give up striving in our search for the light.

This will never succeed as long as the chosen route to this goal is to insist that men can be or should be the same as women or should be forced to behave as though they were.
