Kmiec's comments
[Read the article: More fallout from the Comey revelations]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Strange that Kmiec mentions the "highly classified but nevertheless well-known terrorist surveillance program". How "well-known" is this program and what is the scope? Does it include wiretaps on US attorneys, digging up Democratic dirt, etc.? When are we going to find out what they were looking at?

Ok, I saw your Tucker smack down last night
[Read the article: Why David Vitter matters]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]And you did great Joan. It's amazing that the best comeback he had was to attack you personally; I believe he said said something about you dictating an attitude of hate. How about "just grow some balls, Tucker" and admit that you were wrong about Vitter. At least be consistent with your morals.

Kind of reminds me of the I Mudd star trek episode
[Read the article: What were the pre-2005 "other intelligence activities"?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]You lie, but if everything you say is a lie then you must be telling the truth. Now Listen carefully, I am lying to you.
So I'm telling you the truth, right?
You can bet AG AG, upon confirmation, restarted these illegal "other" programs (and worse). He simply can't be trusted (at all). After all, he signs off on these programs (he is the new Ashcroft, with zero conscience). As a bonus, he has a get out of jail free card waiting.

Denning - good point
[Read the article: The ADL purports to respond again]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Curiousity, part II
I'm curious: do you think maximizing or legitimizing Ahmadinejad's genocidal anti-Semitism has become a standard rhetorical tactic of the war-mongering Right? If so, what, if anything, should be done about that?

[Read the article: Mike Huckabee, on a wing and a prayer]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Post that Huckabee video? Thanks

I read it...
[Read the article: WSJ Op-Ed page decries hatred of the president]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]And lord knows the Bush administration has blundered in its handling of legal issues that have arisen in the war on terror. But from the common progressive denunciations you would never know that the Bush administration has rejected torture as illegal.
Except waterboarding, that's legal now - I'm thinking of having a waterboarding party just for fun.
And you could easily overlook that in our system of government the executive branch, which has principal responsibility for defending the nation, is in wartime bound to overreach--especially when it confronts on a daily basis intelligence reports that describe terrifying threats
Except for those redacted pesky NIE reports - why go with real intelligence when your gut works just as good.
--but that when checked by the Supreme Court the Bush administration has, in accordance with the system, promptly complied with the law.
Huh, what law? Laws don't apply to the Bush administration, they are ABOVE the law.
In short, Bush hatred is not a rational response to actual Bush perfidy. Rather, Bush hatred compels its progressive victims--who pride themselves on their sophistication and sensitivity to nuance-- to reduce complicated events and multilayered issues to simple matters of good and evil.
Oh you mean you are with us or you are with the terrorists?
Bla bla - so this guy is really a law professor? Georgetown students should ask for a refund

Countdown w/KO did something on this
[Read the article: Giuliani's terrorist ties]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]And while I agree that it is guilt by association, the real story is the "War of Terror" candidate has the close ties to the guy that warned KSM (and let him get away). Also, the fact that he was at that conference with Amenimwearingazootsuitijad, Hamas, etc. and trying to hide gave a funny image of the "Terror" candidate hiding under the tables.

bebop, he who fart in church sit in own pew
[Read the article: The K Chronicles]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I truly enjoy your prose; keep it up. But I'm not sure if you have something against KN or not. Anyway, you should publish your writings. "I'd buy that for a dollar!"

How about paying for other things? (Like the war)
[Read the article: Reid and company target the true enemy: "Dodd and his allies"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]because he worried that millions of dollars in new spending would not be paid for by cuts in other programs.
Truly amazing! So we have to pay for the millions for gun control, but puttting the war on the credit card is ok?
-
Umm Yea, I think you guys are missing the point
[Read the article: Hillary and the mean kids on the bus]
[Read more letters about this article: Here](Obama is surging, Edwards is too angry and jumped the shark, Hillary can recover from a loss, Romney can't, Huckabee is a loser, McCain is a great guy who is coming back)
So I guess Glenn is for Obama and McCain and against Edwards and Huckabee and neuteral on Hillary and Romney?

Where's the talk about earmarks?
[Read the article: The Democratic response]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Didn't earmarks go down when the dems took over? And now, Bush thinks it's a good idea? The response wasn't even worth making.

As usual the HIllbots and Obamanators with the usual vapid statements.
[Read the article: If Clinton gets the nomination, would Michelle Obama support her?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Can't we all just get along ;)

Thanks captainlarab good site
[Read the article: Clinton senior staff going without pay]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]No surprise that Clinton has higher PAC money, but Obama has less disclosure.
Ok, bring on the flames!
-
LMAO!
[Read the article: Clinton fundraising hits new highs]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I love it when the Clinton and Obama people tear into each other! It reminds me of when my dog meets another dog and they proceed to pee on everything in sight.
Does anyone have an accurate squirt count? Based on my observations, it seems like there are 3 Clinton squirts for every 5 Obama squirts.
-
That 99 problems is Hillary-ous!!!
[Read the article: Obama spokesman goes after Clinton on tax returns]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]And the best dig/smear yet! (Since Hillary is AKA the "bitch")
99 problems but a bitch ain't one - HIT ME!!

[Read more letters about this article: Here]They said repub, but DF could count as one
-
Anon-mouse!!
[Read the article: Berkeley retreats from Marine Corps ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]So if I jab at unemployment insurance for not giving me service or my check fast enough, the government should be able to cut off my benefits? Sounds fair (to you)
-
Anon, sadly hyperbole will get you everywhere these days
[Read the article: Berkeley retreats from Marine Corps ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]As you open the door, the kid says: Damn, your house is old and ugly. You are fatter than a cow, and your pants are ridiculous. By the way, your wife and daughter are incredible whores.
WOW that's a zinger! Now if the council said that about the Marines I would have issued a STRONGLY WORDED STATEMENT!!!! "unwelcome intruders" has nothing on this!
Hey I'm not saying what the council did was smart, but the response was just plain stupid. It's like hitting your dog when you trip over your shoelace and get mad.
A better, smarter solution might have been to relocate VA centers, or take away/reassign National Guard money - anything to take away the benefits of military presence.
Ok, so I have an even simpler (less hyperbole, and probably heard every day) one for you: If I said the government "sucks" and they are slow and incompetent, should you take my UI benefits away?
