Bush Jr. Regime Had Zero Response to 9/11 Warnings, Not Just Incorrect Response

The right wing Bush Jr. worshippers extend a fantastic degree of latitude for Bush Jr's complete and utter failure on 9/11 that the would extend to no Democratic party president, living or dead.

It would be one thing if Bush Jr's regime responded to the continuous flood of terror warnings about bin Laden and Al Qa'ida and hijacked planes and the World Trade Center and New York and Washington, but their response was imperfect.

You know, they jumped into action giving the warnings being screamed at them, but somehow the bad guys slipped through.

That would be understandable. That happens, and will always happen.

But that is not what happened.

Given huge, repeated, and imminent threats to our nation's safety and security, Bush Jr. and his macho, tough guy, "security oriented" and "strong on defense" idiots did NOTHING.

They didn't take what they saw as somehow imperfectly precise risk reports and order increase vigilance at airports, or enhanced investigations into several areas.

No, Bush Jr. did absolutely nothing, and he (personally) and his staff was actively hostile and condescending to the prospect being urged upon them that they do anything at all in the months preceding 9/11.

Bush Jr. didn't try and fail to increase security giving the flood of warnings he directly and indirectly received in his 8 first months and office.

He ignored these concerns, ignored those offering them, and offered zero response whatsoever. More than that, they actively undermined the power and authority of those in the bureaucracy trying to follow up.

So I see no evidence whatsoever, given the Bush Jr. regime's utter incompetence in considering our safety in the months before 9/11/2001 that had someone handed him an exact outline of the plans of Al Qaida for the morning of 9/11/2001 that he would have done anything at all. I'd certainly like to think that the idiot would have done something, but the evidence certainly doesn't support it.

Thus you right wing worshippers of the idiotic and cowardly Bush Jr. and his regime can get off of this "the warnings weren't specific enough" because there is ZERO EVIDENCE that Bush Jr. and crew responded specifically, unspecifically, indirectly, directly, or generally to the warnings they did have.

Bizarre: Someone Thinks Aug 6 PDB Shows Bush Jr. Doing Something

Some nutty troll above cited the August 6, 2001 PDB, amusingly, as evidence of Bush Jr. and his regime of doing something. Oh, and boo-hoo, why didn't I outline what Bush Jr. should have done...

Nevertheless, FBI information since that time indicates patterns of suspicious activity in this country consistent with preparations for hijackings or other types of attacks, including recent surveillance offederal buildings in New York.

The FBI is conducting approximately 70 investigations throughout the U.S. that it considers Bin Laden-related. CIA and the FBI are investigating a call to our embassy in the UAE in May sayingthat a group or Bin Laden supporters was in the U.S. planning attacks with explosives.

Now, I'm no tough guy, strong on defense conservative, nor some brilliant neoconservative whose predictions on Iraq were a miraculous 100% wrong, but it occurs to me...

...it occurs to me that if I were President, and I read that "FBI information since that time indicates patterns of suspicious activity in this country consistent with preparations for hijackings or other types of attacks, including recent surveillance offederal buildings in New York", and then read that the FBI had "70 investigations" going on...

...I might have -- just a speculation -- took a moment from my vacationing to go, 'Hmmm. Look at that.

'Say, that sounds bad. Maybe I ort to look into this. Wonder if maybe I should call up a few of these FBI guys doing 70 investigations of what sound like really bad signs of possible terrorist activities in this country.

'That Richard Clarke guy has been beggin' us to have a meeting on National Security. Maybe we oughtta do that.'

The context here is that every single one of us knows that had President Gore been in office and September 11th had happened in the exact same way (c'mon, just grant the "if" for a second), you right wing simpletons wouldn't have been on the "everyone pull together" bandwagon.

You'd have been out on September 12th there in front of the White House along with Fox News and Hannity and Limbaugh with pitchforks and torches demanding Al Gore's resignation and trial if not an onsite lynching.

Yet the record stands. When Bill Clinton left office, we had 2 World Trade Centers, a 5 sided Pentagon, and 0 hijacked planes.

After 8 months of Bush Jr's term, we had 0 World Trade Centers, a rebuilt Pentagon, and 4 planes lost to terror.

It's not a record you guys like, but you own it, and you simply will not be allowed this drag-show performance of "tough on defense" ever again.

Good thing those 'journalists' don't use the standards of academia

Boy, in grad school I can just imagine how far a paper of mine would have gotten in academic publishing if my method had been interviewing anonymous witnesses who talked about how great the things they were doing were and how wrong their opponents were...

...and then never following up with my own research on whether what they are saying is true or not.

And I can just imagine, then, countering the professors' criticisms on the ground that the anonymous witnesses were right.

Because their first question would be, "How would you know?"

Anything

Bush Jr. could have held one, just one meeting, where it is on record that he and the actual experts who had been issuing a flood of warnings on terrorism met and discussed the leads they were following and possible precautionary security responses.

Anything.

One meeting.

Bush Jr. could have held one, just one meeting, where it is on record that he and the actual experts who had been issuing a flood of warnings on terrorism met and discussed the leads they were following and possible precautionary security responses.

Anything.

Reality shows the opposite. Concerned figures were turned away, budgets slashed, meetings avoided.

Anything. VS. Reality.
