@zenwick

You may submit it, but I'm not buying it. I do not find Glenn's writing to be shrill, nor is it an appeal to emotionality (I would say that about your writing, however). In fact, I'd say his writing is an appeal to rationality/reason. It makes me quite suspicious of you that you make the claims you do.

I've read probably 100±posts by Omooex, and I don't recall a single one where he/she said anything about knocking your teeth out. Perhaps it happened once and I didn't see it. Anyway, your credibility is getting rather low.

--Ron

Zenwick says: "May I submit that Glenn's shrillness and appeal to emotionality, which are evident in all of his writings, are a proximate cause of the intemperance obscuring a helpful discussion here. When a poster like omooex feels the need to inform me each time I say anything with which he disagrees that he would like to knock my teeth out, it diminishes the value of what we are doing here.

@winsmith

You are not clear there, but if you mean it's a drop in the bucket of our current global financial foreign aid, I believe Israel gets the lion's share (more than 50%). I believe I read recently that our aid to Israel is around $80 billion per year. That's no drop in the bucket, and really, we can't afford it.

--Ron

Winsmith posits: "Our support for Israel is large, but it is a drop in the bucket of our current global financial entanglements."

@zenwick

OMFG! I thought Omooex actually threatened you from what you said, now I see it was a rhetorical device and you don't have the mental capacity to understand his point! He wasn't threatening you, he was using rhetoric to point out the insanity of violence to settle scores! Reading comprehension, zenwick, try it, you'll be less of a fool for it later.

--Ron

Zenwick quotes Omooex: "One day, as I said, I hope that no one is talking about either side; that doens't mean I don't have very strong feelings about Israel, and its supporters such as Zenwick. To be honest, if I was having that conversation with him in person, I'd endeavor to knock as many of his teeth out as possible in order to demonstrate that might makes right is not a perspective that benefits everyone equally. As a matter of sanity and survival, I don't get into these kinds of conversations in person with such people--that is the only logical endpoint for them as far as I am concerned."

@derbig

I'll take your word for it that you get overcome with rage and shame, but I have to disagree that you also become inarticulate! And, I want to thank you, your posts about zionism are eye-opening and thought-provoking, and I appreciate it greatly. Even if I was raised to be Southern Baptist (I got over that, however, at 16, and pretty much have sworn off all religion now).

And, in this little fan letter, I might as well go ahead and thank you for the laughs you've given me over the few months I've been reading here. Some of your remarks do truly make me laugh out loud!

--Ron

Mr. Mooser says: "So I know I'm not much good. I'm just overcome with rage and shame, which makes me inarticulate."

@msgkings

Why does he have to fit in some box or label? I don't know about Mr. Sinnard, but I know I resent people trying to make me fit into some simplistic box for the convenience of their mental shortcuts. As far as his point, I tend to think it's a rational one, why is Israel being treated as our 51st State (by US leadership)? They sure don't treat us that way.

I think that our aid has actually made things worse all over the world, overall, because it's enabled bad policies and practices to be continued longer. Israel/Palestine is just the most potent example I'm aware of.

@msgkings

Msgkings, do you not see a problem with the following two statements, in the same post? You wrote:

"Buddy, calmate! Chillax. You're so enraged you don't even read the posts you attack."

And then ended with:

"Anyhoo, back to the original Greenwald post. Your tribalism seems to be AMERICAN tribalism...you could care less about either dog in the Gaza fight, you don't want your tribe involved. They are all subhuman, as nonAmericans."

So, according to your metric, if someone thinks we are not obligated to fight everyone else's wars, and give them cash we do not have, it means that person thinks those fighting the wars are all subhuman?

Incidentally, if you're going to castigate someone for not being calm, perhaps you should follow your own advice. It may help to make the rest of what you say worth reading.

@winsmith

Please prove that statement, since your word is not credible. I haven't seen anyone say that, much less it be the predominant viewpoint. When are you going to justify why Israel must have a racist and religion-based law? We get that your a tribalist for Israel, and that nothing they do will ever bother you, and your thin-skinned response will always be that any criticism of Israel, no matter how soft, means they think Israel is the great satan. Incidentally, a standard that not even your own journalists living in Israel would meet. It's fine if you want to live with lies, just don't expect rational people to coddle you and pretend you're rational. You come here with one or both of two desires: you either seek validation for your racism, or else you seek to propagandize.

--Ron

Winsmith: "I also notice among the rabid Israel haters on this board, who've driven out pretty much everyone who didn't immediately agree that Israel is the Great Satan, how is it you never mention the Second Intifada?"
