Original article: I was wrong about Wright

from a "clintonista"

I can't speak for many other Clinton supporters (since I don't know, and neither do you), but I plan to vote for whoever is the democratic nominee. But, it's made harder by Obama supporters such as yourself who assume we're racist because we prefer Clinton over Obama. It's made more difficult when you continually assign motives to the Clinton's that simply are nothing but media-assigned motives that you've apparently bought whole-hog.

I personally think Wright is a non-issue. The issue is a double standard being employed with McCain compared to democrats. Everything Clinton says is scrutinized with a fine-toothed comb, almost nothing McCain says is, except the comment about being in Iraq 100 years, and even that was reported quite wrongly. It's a double standard to make a big deal about Wright and not do so about Hagee, in fact, it's worse than a double standard, since Obama did not seek Wright's political endorsement, whereas McCain did seek Hagee's.

Too many democrats are happy to see the democrat they prefer less be trashed by the media, and don't see that it will come back to bite them.

<<So what are Clinton supporters going to do if Obama still wins the nomination?

What if this whole anti-Obama backlash doesn't work and Obama still becomes the Democratic nominee? Will you set aside your Wright-hate and support Obama after all? Or will this fear of a black pastor consume you so much that you would rather see another Republican in the White House?

If Wright is hurting Obama or isn't, it is absolutely clear that the Clintonistas are driving this racial backlash in a big way. Just like they are the only ones proclaiming this drawn-out and divisive primary is not injuring the party ahead of the general election (just as Joan Walsh frequently states), they are smearing Obama's character to a point where he will be completely hobbled going up against McCain.

The Clintonistas seem to feel that either their candidate gets a shot at the White House or they want a George Bush successor. And they will do everything in their power to make it so.>>

Undistinguished anti-corporatism

Do you really think there is no difference between a corporation such as Salon and a corrupt corporation like Enron? I think that's what you mean since you're condemning corporations as such.

A lot of businesses (large and small) are corporations for all kinds of reasons, it doesn't automatically make them evil.

Still, being in a small corporation (5 employees), I do get annoyed with people who attack us like we were a large company trying to steal their money when something doesn't go as they think it should. I try to be fair with our customers, and I wish all customers would be fair in return. Most are, but damn if the bad ones don't make for a shitty day! I think that's half the reason small businesses go out of business, it just doesn't seem worth it to be in business sometimes.

<<Salon Media Group, a Delaware Corporation

Google it and see what this site really is.

I'll say goodbye. I can't stand this corporate whoring anymore. A lot of racist trash. Zeig Heil Hillary, drop those nuclear bombs girl.

I think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit.

This site sucks, yes I am leaving for good. see ya, its been a nice eight years hanging around here. buh bye. - Glennski>>

@gthrasher

I did answer your questions. I said I don't bother with trolls, and that comment was too ridiculous to respond to. I asked you questions because I do NOT consider you a troll, or ridiculous (I said this in my previous post).

I'm not trying to censor you. Maybe consider re-reading what I've written, the entire posts, while I won't say that I'm an especially high-quality writer, I will say what I wrote did have content.

You last post to Joan, while vituperative, did have more substance. You may have a point that she's employing a double standard. I don't think she's a racist, but instead is writing from her vantage point. My criticism of her is different than yours, I think the whole Wright thing is sheer nonsense, particularly since little to nothing is being played about Hagee and McCain, and McCain actively SOUGHT Hagee's endorsement. That would make a more substantive post on her part (even if Glenn Greenwald already has covered it to some degree, it still needs to be brought up until even Chris Matthews can see the double standard).

That said, it strikes me that Obama is stumbling of late. Do you agree with that? If so, what should he do to find his footing again? I think stopping this from becoming another media narrative is more important than anything Wright himself said. And I think other posters' points that holding Obama to that standard because he went to Wright's church is silly, because many people I know who go to churches only believe what parts they choose to believe (in fact, this seems the case with all religions). Personally, I do not think religion makes anyone a better person in any way, often it does make them a worse person, however.

<<@lemec; Again please address my questions??

why did you not ask the posters who attacked me as a nigger nazi to stop? Why did you not try to censor them?

why dont' your review your own posts for lacking quality and content??>>

@gthrasher

The reason I didn't bother with the other poster (and some of the others here) is that it was so ridiculous as to not be worth responding to in any way (I've found that people who behave as trolls are best ignored). I did not think you were ridiculous, that's why I wrote, plus I was curious if you were serious or if your writing is parody, so much of it seems it could go either way, especially since so many of your posts are just one-liners.

Anyway, you certainly have no obligation to answer.

<<How come you are so slective in your wilingness to give me advice on what and how to posT??>>
