Check your facts Joan

Who voted for Barack Obama? It was the radical progressives like Joan, the bluedog dems, some disgusted republicans, some equally disgusted independents, the black community, unions and the kids.

So what has he done for these groups to date?

He has lined the pockets of his radical progressives that helped fund his campaign like the dizzy Hollywood crowd, the academic snobs seen in SF, Boulder, Madison, and the greedy Wallstreet scoundrels.

He has threatened his bluedog democrats to vote for his lousy bills and thus paving the way for many of them to lose their seats.

Disgusted republicans and independents voted not FOR this president, but AGAINST the other party to send a signal. The only way they could have become permanent converts was to govern from the center which Obama has failed to do. He is governing as his previous scant record clearly showed which was a very left of center democrat. The NJ and VA elections showed that "love" for this president is gone.

The black community is perhaps the groups that is getting punished the most by this president and will not see their lives take any meaningful improvement. The reason is simple. We continue to send jobs overseas, and thus the need for unskilled labor is diminishing with each passing day. Obama hired an education secretary from his beloved city of Chicago, but one only needs to look at the public school system there to know that choice was a stupid one. Blacks will continue to feel the pain until the majority stay in school and get an education. That won't happen because the family unit is broken and thus the environment lacks the stability to raise productive children.

Obama's answer to the black community and those other unskilled groups is to give them unemployment checks and food stamps. This is NO solution at all and in fact makes a bad situation worse. That group is growing and being able to support them by government hand-outs may be coming to an end. And then what? The black community is in dire need to leaders that will lead by example, but also not encourage government dependency and instead encourage independence from the system. To do otherwise is holding that group hostage to a barely sustainable life. We are better than that in America.

Unions have benefited from having their boss in the WH. If this miserable Healthcare bill passes they will be guaranteed their premiums won't rise while the rest of us will not be so lucky. That means we WON'T be buying enough to keep many of the union jobs long-term because our taxes on just about everything will soar to pay for wars, underfunded social programs, pork projects, and misspent billions that seems to have evaporated.

Lastly the youth. They were inspired by this man, but now reality of his words is becoming clear. Overwhelmingly they supported his agenda until it come to their own lives. The idea of mandating insurance has caused defections in large numbers. Youth has never liked being told what to do and being asked to contribute.

I too am glad I am not president. The guy in the WH is an empty suit. His record showed he had little legislative prowess, zero business experience, no military expertise, and thus the reason he looks so confused and weak today. One thing he had lots of though, and that was ARROGANCE. He has that in spades.

Vote for who you represent

The nation is now split with regards to abortion being an acceptable choice. So the youth is slowly changing that killing living fetuses will solve their problems. Therefore it is reasonable to assume that many house members voted their conscience and for the people they represent. If they haven't done that, which many democrats failed to do knowing their districts were against this bill in its totality, they will get voted out in the near future. I know progressives believe that all women think like they do, but actually only a minority feel abortion is morally a good decision. We all grouse daily about voting records not reflecting constituents, but in this case it seems reasonable to understand that many democrats represent those opposing public money for abortions.

Liberals woud always taste like pork

More people live in an urban environment than ever before. Many of those people have never touched a farm animal and thus will not be in the least horrified by the brutality of large scale farming. The city folk would never dream of taking a Sunday car ride to the country to allow their kids to touch a farm animal.

I grew up when NJ was mostly rural. I remember frequent trips to the local farm up the road to get some eggs, and see if any more babies had been born that day. What a lovely barn it was. I remember a few times the cows getting loose and having to help round them up. Of course my horse had the occasional break out to visit our neighbors and stomp down their flowers. Oh well such is rural life.

For those of you that are older, like myself, eating meat tends to be less important as one grows older. I am not a vegetarian but I only eat meat twice a week at most. I like my veggie garden and all the neat stuff I can make with a nice fresh piece of homemade bread.

It really is simple. Look for substitutes for protein like beans. Learn to cook well. Try a lot of new stuff in soups.

Take your children out to the country to watch and touch the animals so they learn to love and appreciate them and stop looking at them as just their next meal.
