[Read more letters about this article: Here]The difference between some whites and blacks on the issue of racism is that many whites belive that just because you talk about racsim you are a racist or playing the race card. Blacks belive racism is a systmatic, political and power issue. Rev. Wright and many blacks have prejudices but those prejudices cannot lock a people out of institutions.
Where in Rev. Wrights sermon does he advocate the murder, bombing or incarceration of people because of the color of someones skin? Where has Rev. Wright bombed churches, constructd laws that impeded a whole race of peoples right to "life,liberty and the pursuit of happiness?" Where did Rev. Wright or his church advocate bombing of government buildings like Tim McVigh? Where has Rev. Wright advocated the dragging of white person like they did in Texas of Mr. Byrd? Where has Rev. Wright called for whites to be kept people from going to school, getting health care, excluded from unions or being pulled over because you are white?
Racism for white folks are harsh words. Racism for blacks is the lost of life,family, education, healthcare,dignity,church and employement. These are not just things of yesterday gone by these realities were played out in Katrina, in New York where the man was shot for reaching for his wallet and in Jenna. Mr. Byrd was dragged to his death because he was black that its racism.
Code words used by the Hillary camp to signal that the only reason that blacks are voting for Obama is because he is black is wrong. It says we are not thinking people. Black people are the most loyal constituency the Democratic party has. How is it when we voted for white candidates for all these years it was because we were thinking, but now that we have a black candidate who is qualified we are just voting for him because of the "concept" of him being black. Those kinds of codes have been sent to keep blacks from achieving for years and we recongnize racism when we see it.
It is amazing that we who have experience racism in all manners are not held up as experts on the subject. Finally, the reason that we don't have suicide bombers in the black community is because churches like Rev. Wrights. Though he is angry at whites for what he deems as there inhumanity toward blacks because of their race he still tells blacks not to give evil for evil. He tells them to go to school, treat people like you want to be treated, love your enemies,clean up your neighborhood, don't do drugs,stop buying those things that don't have value and invest your money, vote and most importantly accept Christ as your Lord and Savior.
Rev. Wright has been a good Christian by example. For the bible says "let not thy anger lead you to sin." As angry as he is he fought for this country. He was willing to give his life for your right to call him a racist even though he has never committed racist behavior.

[Read more letters about this article: Here]Once again this blog shows the difference between what some whites view as racism and what blacks view as racism. Racism for whites is black people talking about the issues of race. For blacks racism is the murder of James Byrd in Texas,lynchings,Bull Conners,being shot 50 times for reaching for your wallet,George Wallace,Tim McVigh murdering 168 people because he was mad about affirmative-action and the government,Roberts bombing at the Atlanta Olmpics because he was upset about blacks and abortion,Otis Birdsong being shot through the window by a skin head who hated black people, Jim Crow laws and separate but equal until the 1950's,the bombing of churches,keeping blacks off of juries, and unequal sentencing laws for the same crimes.
Rev. Wright did not in his sermon say blacks should go out and kill whites for discrimnation. If he was as racist as many of you white folks think he is he this country would have black suicide bombers. You can be angry and still not sin. If you go and listen to his sermons week after week he tells blacks the things I mention above were wrong but don't let them stop you from being all you can be. He tells them to get an education,clean your neighborhood up, invest your money wisely,respect your elders, young man take care of your families, women be more responsible with your bodies because you could get HIV/AIDS or have a child you cannot take care of.
Rev. Wright while angry produces young men and women who are great citizens. Rev. Rob Parsly, Hagee,Robinson, Falwell all said that America was in trouble if they kept on with abortions. That God was about to judge America for it's sin.
Rev. Wright just flipped the script and said America was being judge for it's racist policies. Unlike some of the folks that think like religious right, black folks have never bombed government buildings or abortion clinics.
No, the black church while angry used non-violent demonstrates, boycotts. Racism is not words it is power to enforce prejudical beliefs. It is systematic. This is why the bible said "we fight not against flesh and blood but principalities and wickness in high places." While everyday people fight to make ends meet those in high places will keep us fighting each other. The system of racism,corporatism and war has to end. Sen. Obama or Hillary Clinton will be better then McCain in that endevor.
