Do I admire her decision to have a child with Down syndrome? No, sorry I do not. Nor do I agree with any of her born-again ultra evangelical so called Christian values she would like to push on the rest of the American population. What happened to freedom of choice for women we fought so hard for? This is coming from a very moderate feminist who in the early 70s fought for equal pay (which we still do NOT get) the right to have our credit cards in OUR names and who took her money out of banks who would not give well-qualified women mortgages.

WHO IS THIS WOMAN ANYHOW? A "pseudo" feminist who has 5 children, one out-of-wedlock grand-child on the way which might not have happened had she instructed her daughter to either abstain or use appropriate birth-control in an age of rampant spread of venereal diseases. Under which rock did Senator McCain find her and/or is his judgment being impaired by flashbacks from his POW days?

PLEASE - give a younger American a chance and don't hide racism so very obvious in this campaign of intellect versus old age.

What does it say about the character of a man who leaves his sick wife for a younger woman who is super-wealthy and on a power-trip herself. Surely she would love to become First Lady.

Please let us have someone who comes from the ground-up and like Senator Biden did NOT vote for all the poor decisions made by this administration leading the nation if not the entire world into disaster and making the USA the laughing stock of the rest of the world. All MUSCLE (weapons) does not cut it any longer - what this country needs is leadership that provides a good health-care system for all, education also on a higher level like in Europe that does not impoverish people just when they ought to start thinking about THEIR old age and get rid of the old deadwood in the Government at large. We need fresh blood, term limits AND abolish lobbies. We need clean renewable energy sources (NOT ETHANOL) and definitely no more oil drilling and and and....................

Small-town America has always been more Republican than Democrat-oriented but to say in 2008 that someone is NOT is favor of "blacks" shows the hypocrisy and racism still existing in the United States. So you trust yet another war-monger and a "moos/wolf-hunting strumpet" (who takes care of her children by the way?) because of your prejudices? Mind you this is coming from a white woman, first generation immigrant to the USA and who came there in the first place to no longer encounter the unjust stigma of being part of the post-Nazi German generation. (which by the way never happened, I was insulted most often over my 38 years as an American tax-paying citizen by American Jews who never suffered ANY loss or hardship at all while I did.)

Can rural America distinguish between hard-working black families with good values and the gang-oriented, drug-plagued inner-city folks?

And guess who brought the drugs into Harlem etc. in the first place and who were the slum-lords/store-owners in those impoverished areas? I well remember the Bronx in the 1970s and 1980s looking like a war-zone, worse than some of war-zones of today. Who profited from their misery and who passed the laws that the black families could no longer receive financial aid if there was a man in the house, eventually leading to the "projects" of un-wed mothers with children, fatherless homes and the disintegration of the black family which prior to that had been very strong?

Small-town thinking is not always marked by ignorance but in this case I would venture to remind all of America that the country is a MELTING POT, color, race, religion or sexual preference ought to stay OUT of politics. Take your extremist born-again Christian values to church where they belong and THINK who REALLY RUNS AMERICA in the 21st CENTURY - a large conglomerate of the super-wealthy, multinational CORPORATIONS and their lobbies. If you do not understand that, you are fooling yourselves and how!
