first you get democracy.

without democracy, you can do nothing, but talk and wring your hands. with it, you can so as much as the majority is willing to do.

so quit talking, start doing. or at least shut up.

quite right!

blonde american dollies can expect a rewarding career as the trophy wife(one of, china was never impressed by monogamy) of the many new chinese plutocrats. see, nature finds a way, so polish up your mandarin girls, a whole new world awaits.

a good job you couldn't lose?

what makes you think you deserve something that only the rich and well-connected have? thinking above you station, there.

i'm waiting till i hear a similar offier-

from the military officer commanding the beltway defense perimeter. when it comes to lobbying, no one does it better than delta force.

ahmadinejad was a model..

of logic and restraint, compared to dubya.

america's track record in the middle east is simply vile, and iran has suffered greatly from it. so, too, has iraq and the palestinians.

europe has profited from this as well. the establishment of israel painted over europe participation in the holocaust, transforming europe's 'jewish problem' into the palestinian's jewish problem.

the great injustice of zionism may succeed, with this powerful backing, but the people of the middle east know what happened and will not soon forget.

Original article: Will Israel attack Iran?

"let's support the zionists'-

somebody in the democrat national committee said in '47. "we need a big jewish turn-out in new york next year, and besides, what can it hurt?"

china buys more cars than usa?

china leads usa in plug-in development?

is anyone in america asking "where did we go wrong?"

Thursday, April 16, 2009 01:36 PM

nazi corpses exonerated..

they shouldn't have been prosecuted, and shouldn't have been hung. they were only doing their duty and following orders.

Thursday, April 16, 2009 07:24 PM

when you live in an oligarchy-

civilians can only beg, as conason does here.

if america had citizen initiative, dubya and his gang would be in jail.

except, if america had citizen initiative, dubya wouldn't have the opportunity to trash the nation.

but first you need citizen quality people, who demand democracy.

Original article: Is torture really over?

ruled by laws, not by men?

laws that are only applied when some man says so, are characteristic of monarchies, on the 'l'etat, c'est moi' principle.

american policy is set by one man, a characteristic of monarchy.

america is ruled by an elective king, a king none the less, and after his soldiers have thrown their ballot-spears, he takes the throne. then the soldiers retire to their homes and await the next battle in america's war of the roses.

democracy? you wouldn't know it if it bit you on the bum.

Sunday, April 19, 2009 07:29 PM

there will be no prosecution.

the nation that gave w f calley tgree tears of house arrest is not about to indict it's national leaders.

if you lay a glove on the guy in the black hood and leather pants, the whole rotten edifice of government will ultimately come crashing down.

you can't hang the little guy, and let the lawyers walk, and their masters are safe: obama has already committed war crimes, and does not wish to see what the next republican administration can do with that.

Monday, April 20, 2009 01:51 PM

who cares what 'most americans' think?

obama must protect himself, and the people he needs to get things done. he is already liable to war crimes charges in pakistan, and he wouldn't get get much from the cia and military if he made them liable for 'following orders.'

'most americans' are spear carriers in the war of the roses the political class holds every few years. they are not citizens, they are serfs.

quit pretending to democracy, and suddenly american political life will make more sense.

Original article: Obama speaks to the CIA

i find it hard to imagine that one should be 'proud' of work...

when that work is murder.

when you consider that the emnity of the moslem world is in large part the result of cia activity, and that they are so incompetent as to fail in detecting the 9/11 plot, i suspect america would be much safer if the cia was disbanded.

Tuesday, April 21, 2009 02:02 PM

the rule of men, not laws:

that's what happens when you vote for men, not laws.

america is not a democracy, pretending it is may make you feel better, and earn a living for gg, but in the end it is a medieval society, slightly obscured by nearly meaningless elections.

the fate of the nation is bound to the character of a king, the national policy depends on his pronouncements, and you style yourselves 'citizens'?

more like sheep in a field, free until fleecing time.

Tuesday, April 21, 2009 04:08 PM

president ozymandias..

decides what tactics shall be used.

law, geneva conventions, simple regard for human rights blown away on the mighty wind of the american prdesident/king: "look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!"

lieberman is covering his ass. he is not only crooked, he knows it, unlike cheney. lieberman is a simple hypocrite, cheney a sociopath.

obama is a politician too: say anything, do anything to get power and keep it. the torture memos are a bet each way, and will not get prosecutions, for your masters in washington are all complicit.

but crooked masters are just the crust on a crooked society. don't complain, half of america thinks law only applies when applied to others.

Original article: Bill Kristol wins a prize

it's hard to argue for the rich..

and it should be well paid, in compensation for the mental damage suffered.

but 'liberals' piss me off even more: endlessly complaining about the normal functioning of a corrupt society, but never a word about how to fix it.

if they didn't complain, they might have to work for a living, do you suppose?

Wednesday, April 22, 2009 02:48 PM

kolbert is right..

about self-destruction. but she is wrong about the quality of society. america is a medieval society with a glossy face of technology, that medieval society itself is just an update on the baboon troupe power structure humanity continues to use while wielding planet killer technology.

there will be no sudden access of wisdom, no about-face on the march to disaster.

Wednesday, April 22, 2009 05:52 PM

see what happens...

when you hand the keys of the national car to sociopaths?

i would recommend democracy, once again, but it is abundantly clear that a large percentage of the american electorate gets a thrill from reading about, better seeing clips, of torture.

"you get the government you deserve" is true, and half of america is well-pleased that middle-eastern people, indeed, foreigners in general, are being treated in a way that would not be tolerated by the spca, were the victims dogs.
